PRESIDENT Robert Mugabe gave his daughter, Bona, US$100,000 and a 55 herd of cattle at her lavish wedding to Simba Chikore in Harare on Saturday.
The presidents of South Africa, Zambia and Equatorial Guinea attended the event along with a handful of former leaders, among them Jerry Rawlings of Ghana.
Various artists including South Africa’s Zahara and the Soweto String Quartet, Koffi Olomide from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and local stars Jah Prayzah and Sulumani Chimbetu provided the entertainment.
Private media organisations were barred from the event which was partially televised on national television although even the ZBC took care not to show images of Mugabe’s palatial home which is said to have cost more than $10 million to build.
Reflecting Mugabe’s sensitivity over his home, the veteran leader’s spokesman George Charamba said: “The venue of the wedding is a peculiar one. It is not a public place.
“It is actually within the grounds of the home of the First Family and this is a home which is distinct from the official residence of the President.
“You might recall that the land on which that home stands was bought by the party, Zanu PF, for their leader. Not a single cent came from the State.”
“Secondly, the structures which have become the private home of the First Family were painstakingly put up through a combination of private savings and donations from well-wishers.
“That makes the place not just a house for now, but a home for all times for the Mugabes, in and out of office. That immediately raises security concerns not just in the present, but for all times.

- An unnamed local mining company gave the couple $100,000
- Businessman Ihmad Ahmed – US$50 000
- Equatorial Guinea President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and his wife – US$35,000.
- Gabriel Mugabe (son of President Mugabe’s brother) – US$25 000 and 10 herd of cattle
- Public Service Minister Nicholas Goche, US$2,000
- ZRP chief, Augustine Chihuri – US$10,000

Mugabe marries Chikore for her daughter.
The wedding cost was forked out by the first family, the Equtorial Guinea president gave Chikore back hi roora money plus interest at 10% paid by the police commisioner. What remains is to know that Chikore’s first wife ddisappeared after the wedding.

So, even young Bona has a farm! It makes sense given the first family has 13 farms between them!
There is something strange in this gukurahundi family.
That boy Robert jnr is always missing in action in all family gatherings why? Almost all pictures taken dont have him in, why?
He was also missing in Dali Tambo’s People of the South programme. There is a very strong possibility that boy is not the gukurahundi’s son.
The boy is just too tall to be his son. He is also rather light in complexion and has no gukurahundi features at all. Even Bona might not even be his daughter.
Little Chatunga appears to be the only one who comes closer to the gukurahundi in appearance, except for the complexion again. He is also short and the shape of the head isnt far off from that of the gukurahundi!!

I have never condoned Mthwakazi’s attitude. At the same time I have not had conflict on this website with him. What I can say is that I do understand his anger. I will also say some of his contributions (barring using tribal verbs) have been understandable. I also take my hat off for the Shona brothers who have tried not to take offence. We are in his together and Mthwakazi please try to tone it down like you are doing now. I can not tell you what to say but I can surely comment on it if it is not malicious.
I wish Bona would have said “DAD my 55 cows please use them to feed the flood victims” But then again wishes are not horses so I cannot ride.

People who take offence in what I say are either the guilty ones or those who do not read and understand what I am saying but choose to understand what they want or what is in their heads, or what they imagine due to their closeted tribal upbringing.
Objective people will never take offence because they are broad minded and understand the history of Zimbabwe’s politics in the last 35 years.
Of course anyone who reads Zim politics from 1999 to date will always take offence. There is nothing we can do about this.
Surely what can one do about people who deliberately choose to stay ignorant?? Its their choice, let them be.
