Zimbabweans driven into exile have complained that an Israeli company, Nikuv, helped rig the July elections which returned Mugabe to power.
The Zimbabwe Vigil in the UK says there is convincing evidence that Nikuv manipulated the voters’ roll in the elections on hire from Mugabe’s Zanu PF party.
The Vigil, which has been protesting outside the Zimbabwe Embassy in London for the past 11 years in support of human rights, warns that Nikuv’s involvement will be counterproductive for Israel because the Mugabe regime has already indicated that it is prepared to sell uranium to Iran. The Vigil has written the following letter to the Israeli government.
Open letter to the Prime Minister and people of Israel
The people of Zimbabwe have been struggling for the last 33 years to unseat a corrupt and brutal post-independence regime – a regime that has crashed their hopes and dreams of freedom, liberty and the human dignity the nation had gone to war for and paid dearly for with the loss of many lives.
Since Independence Mugabe and his Zanu PF party have ruled the country with an iron fist, corrupting the country’s democratic institutions and denying the people their basic freedoms and rights including the right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country and the right to life itself. Thousands of innocent Zimbabweans have been murdered by Mugabe and his followers to establish the country’s de facto one-party dictatorship.
This year, 2013, the nation had its best chance ever to end Mugabe’s reign of terror peacefully through free, fair and credible elections. It is most disheartening that Mugabe was once again able to rig the elections. Worse still, it is hard to believe that an Israeli company, Nikuv, was the tyrant’s chief architect of this vote rigging.
What have the people of Zimbabwe ever done to Israel that an Israeli company should seek to foil their hopes and dreams of justice, peace and life itself in such a heartless way?
Nikuv worked with the Mugabe regime in 2002 and is reportedly being hired by other countries in the region such as Malawi.
We believe the Israeli government and people owe it to the people of Zimbabwe to force Nikuv to reveal the role it played in helping Mugabe rig the elections.
It is not just in the interest of natural justice that the truth should be known about how the Zimbabwe elections were rigged but also in Israel’s national interest. It is no secret that Iran has been trying to buy Zimbabwe’s uranium for its nuclear programme. A tyrant like Mugabe or his successor will not hesitate to do such a deal with a repressive regime like Iran.
We therefore call upon the Prime Minister of Israel and the people of Israel to stop Nikuv exporting chaos and mayhem to Zimbabwe and our region and to assist us in establishing the full truth of Nikuv’s involvement in Zimbabwe’s 2013 rigged elections.
We attach part of a report by the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) detailing the rigging of Zimbabwe’s 2013 elections including the role paid by Nikuv. The MDC says in its report that Nikuv was run and operated by the Israeli spy agency Mossad.

The Vigil, outside the Zimbabwe Embassy, 429 Strand, London, takes place every Saturday from 14.00 to 18.00 to protest against gross violations of human rights in Zimbabwe. I personally like Israel and its beliefs for its own rights to exist as a nation before GOD. As a GOD fearing person I believe everything written in the Bible about ISRAEL.
On the issue of NIKUV I personally think Israel should have acted accordingly against this tiny misguided company which might tarnish ISRAEL ‘s image .
I hope the Israel government still has to act accordingly against this company.
Mugabe supplies uranium to Iran for their nuclear programme and employs NIKUV to rig his elections.
So what happens next?
Will Israel do something about NIKUV or will we all jump for joy when Iran uses a zimbabwe powered atomic bomb on Israel.
Oh well, I suppose it could be the price of unintended consequences???
Just one more thing, Israel also supplied anti riot vehicles mounted with water canons to help Zanu-PF oppress the people of Zimbabwe.
God knows what else Israel is involved in and I think another good place to start looking is their possible involvement in Blood Diamonds from Zimbabwe
The Isreali’s have certainly lost my support and I know of people who have cancelled trips to that country because of this NIKOV company. It is a branch of MOSSAD the Israeli CIO. The state of Israel is involved not just this company. All Western Governments should withdraw their support for Israel if they continue this company as it is supporting the governments who criticise and are anti the very people who keep Israel in existence. Shame on Israel. NIKOV should be forced by that Government to disclose their business in Zimbabwe. The same company with a different name who framed Morgan in Canada.

Why mentioning other countries in the letter, such as Malawi, when you can’t even substantiate the allegations. MDC has failed to prove how ZANU PF “rigged” the elections and these morons are already pointing to “rigging” of elections in Malawi; elections yet to be held.

MDC had prepared a “dossier” some time back on how NIKUV assisted ZANU PF to “rigg” the elections, but today your Vigil is asking Israeli government “to force Nikuv to reveal the role it played in helping Mugabe rig the elections.”
It is most unlikely that Nikuv did what it did without Mossad and the Israeli government knowing. So this initiative is likely to be misguided. It is even hard to imagine the USA was not in the know. So the big question remains why was Nikuv allowed to proceed? Was it a sting operation that went wrong? Or did they expect perhaps that the MDC leadership would never be so foolish as to participate in the election under the existing conditions?
America and the whole west knows what was happening and what happened thats why they are refusing to accept the results

Zindoga, if as we assume (as I do) MOSSAD, the CIA, SASS, etc. If these agencies all knew what was on the cards, my curiosity is why Nikuv was allowed to proceed with the rigging. The only answer I can imagine is that someone tried to convert this into a sting operation – which then backfired…

Worst of all, it is not likely that ZANU PF will create conditions for a free and fair election in 2018 either. If the MDC threatens not to partipate (as they should have done this year)..ZANU will be able to get away with going it alone. Not so this year, where they had to deal with the SADC roadmap. That threat to pull out of SADC would have left them totally isolated in Africa, if carried out this year. As in 2008 before the GNU, the MDC had a lot going for them. They blew it big time, both times. They say opportunity knocks once – for the MDC leadership it came calling twice.
Even if Tsvangirai had not participated, people like Ncube and Dabengwa would have contested. This would still have given Mugabe the opposition he needed to make it look credible.

There is no excuse and absolutely irresponsible for Tsvangirai to take the nation into an election without verifying the voters roll.
Zanu-PF made a fool out of him and by default, Tsvangirai ALLOWED zanu-PF to steal ANOTHER election.
Such stupidity will continue UNLESS cadres within the movement bring about change from within. If there is no change, Zanu-PF will forever because they don’t need the people’s mandate because the are ALLOWED to rig election as a result of irrational MDC-T leaders who will not take responsibility for their stupidity!
