By Langton Ncube|Vice President Kembo Mohadi was on Thursday reportedly forced by the military to bring his “former” wife Tambudzani to the State House where he was being sworn in as the country’s Vice President.

The former State Security minister recently filed divorce papers with the High court where he indicated that he wanted to part ways with his wife of 36 years.

In his divorce papers Mohadi said the two who have four children who are now adults, stopped staying together more than 18 years ago.

Sources close to Mohadi’s security told ZimEye.com that the Vice President was directed by the “authorities” to bring his wife for the swearing in ceremony.

“This was done to dignify the Vice President,” said the officials.

“Staying together or not staying together is something else but the order is that he should be seen at national events with his wife because his position requires him to be a dignified person,” the officials added.

Mohadi was together with the former Zimbabwe Defence Forces Commander, Constatino Chiwenga, on Thursday at State House sworn in as the country’s Vice Presidents.

Chiwenga who was also accompanied by his wife Mary, at the swearing in ceremony was the leader of the coup which toppled the former head of state Robert Mugabe and handed over power to Emmerson Mnangagwa last month.
