African Commission on Human and Peoples Rights (ACHPR) chairperson Pansy Tlakula is expected in the country tomorrow on a four-day working visit.

Tlakula will be in Zimbabwe in her capacity as the ACHPR’s special rapporteur on freedom of expression and access to information.
She is expected to meet different stakeholders in the media sector, among them Media Institute for Southern Africa (Misa) Zimbabwean chapter, Information minister Christopher Mushohwe and his ICT counterpart, Supa Mandiwanzira.
Tlakula will engage with the Parliamentary Portfolio Committees on Media, ICTs, Postal and Courier Services, Human Rights as well as the Parliamentary Legal Committee.
She was also billed to meet the Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission and the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe.
Tlakula is expected to assess Zimbabwe’s progress in realigning media-related laws with the Constitution.
