REINSTATED Harare Mayor, Bernard Manyenyeni, was on Wednesday taken for questioning by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) soon after winning his High Court case challenging his suspension.

In a message to Newzimbabwe.com, Manyenyeni confirmed being taken by ZACC agents but could not elaborate more on the issue.

“Yes, I was whisked away by Anti- Corruption team straight after winning my Court case and I am facing new charges still to be tabled. I am with my lawyer at ZACC,” said Manyenyeni.

Earlier on, High Court Judge, Lavender Makoni, had passed judgement in favour of Manyenyeni, ordering his reinstatement at Town House.

The judge also stopped Local Government Minister, Savior Kasukuwere, from making any further suspensions.

The very concept of an “anti corruption commission” in this country is ridiculous. Just more state-sponsored thugs.
