The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has with immediate effect transferred five senior managers from Beitbridge border post to other stations following a vehicle imports smuggling scandal that cost the parastatal millions of dollars.

Those who have been transferred are Mr Christopher Zifudzi , Regional manager, Mr Martin Muponda , Mr Farai Makunike, and Miss Prenade Dzangare, all shift managers, and Mr Julius Toringepi, the Regional Human Resource and Administration manager.

Sources at the border said Mr Zifudzi, Mr Muponda and Miss Dzangare had been redeployed to Harare while Mr Toringepi and Mr Makunike had been sent to Bulawayo and Masvingo respectively.

    These guys should be sent home immediately and their return to work should based on investigation findings. This is a very bad precedent, because with no action in sight, there are bound to be even more activities of the same nature.

      Yes I agree with you Tonyme, except that this is not a precedent at all. In fact, that is how the zanu pf government has always operated since 1980.

      By now we shld all know that stealing public funds does not constitute a crime at all according to Mugabe & zanu pf definition of crime. Its only when it has just become too public & refutable that such individuals , and for electioneering reasons, that the exposed individuals just move from their well known workstations to other new stations and usually the movement is on promotion not punishment as most people think.

      In fact, the zanu pf god likes such individuals a lot. He does not want anyone who is clean around him. Nguruve nema peacocks (nevotsanana) hazvivonani zvachose – inotoda vakasviba kuidarika. In short, ese aya mabasa echidhara chiya chava 100 yrs old chisingadi kuswera chichitamba nemuzukuru kumba. So, they are going anywhere; forget about that.

    You all don’t know the truth of the story. God knows and will handle it foubyou and then all. Relax
