via Mugabe’s time to reflect – DailyNews Live 21 February 2016
HARARE – President Robert Mugabe turns 92 today and we join the rest of the nation in congratulating this milestone.
However, we urge Mugabe to use his special day to reflect on what Zimbabwe under Zanu PF has achieved since independence in 1980, if he has managed to meet the aspirations of the people and also reflect on the economy.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind Mugabe that the factional fights in Zanu PF are bleeding the nation, people are crying out for a better living, our people want jobs, and proper service delivery as promised both at independence and during successive elections since then.
Mr President, the incessant fights in Zanu PF —and demonstrations by war veterans in Harare are of no consequence to the hungry people in Chivi and in Mutoko.
The president must get time to visit even cemeteries to see for himself how many young people have died in the past 10 years alone before they even get to 30 years.
He might point to the HIV and Aids scourge and irresponsible behaviour but then recent reports show that our hospitals are running out of the antiretroviral drugs which, as you know, help add years to those inflicted by the deadly disease. Our hospitals have become death cages due to lack to funding and proper care.
Mr President is seen a wise man who with thousands others helped liberate this country but all this cannot be thrown down the drain all because people are fighting for power. In simple terms Mugabe must resolve the succession issue now.
Because of ill-fated policies such as the land reform programme, Zimbabwe, once a “jewel of Africa”, is now a basket case some of whose citizenry live on the goodwill of international donors and non-governmental organisations which the government is currently attacking — needless to say to the detriment of hungry villagers.
Our social services — health and education in particular — which Mugabe once raised above any in the region, are now shadows of their former shining status.
Hospitals don’t have drugs and schools are performing dismally.
The majority are saddled with these ill-equipped social services and cannot afford to fly to South Africa when ill or to send their children to private collages or foreign universities like what the powers that be do.
Mr President, please take advantage of your birthday today to come up with policies and decisions that will help the nation.

In Zim, the whites are finished. It goes without saying that their destruction also means this is the end of Zimbabwe as a functioning country. Zimbabwe’s economy will collapse totally.

WE HAVE BEEN PROVED TO BE SO STUPID RACISTS, PATHETIC, ARROGANT, USELESS, GREED, THE WORST NATION IN AFRICA AND WE STILL DARE TO TALK ABOUT BLACK AND WHITE PEOPLE. WE SURELY DESERVE THIS DUMP THAT WE STILL CALL COUNTRY.
