A shocking video of police officers torturing a group of people believed to be Harare residents who were arrested following protests that rocked the capital last week has leaked.

The video that went viral yesterday on social media shows the riot police officers assaulting women and minors under their feet using truncheons.
The people were being tortured alongside a road with Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) trucks parked nearby.
One of the police officers is heard mocking a wailing woman who says she recently had an operation. Another man was forced to carry a boulder on his head.
Zimbabweans took to social media to demand the arrest of the police officers. ZRP spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba could not be reached for comment last night.
Police responded with brute force after Zimbabweans took to the streets on Monday and Wednesday to protest against numerous roadblocks and the mounting problems facing the country.
Tens of people, including children, were arrested in Bulawayo and Harare in a brutal clampdown that has been condemned by civil society and opposition parties.

Who can believe that Zimbabwe has sunk to this level. But luckily we can at least celebrate the bravery of the person who managed to take these frightful close up pictures.
Imagine the terror and bravery of that poor woman who threw herself over the person being severely beaten with truncheons, beg for, and refused mercy, and then to take the beatings on her friend’s behalf.
Imagine the terror suffered by those young men being forced to fetch large lumps of concrete, forced to carry them on their heads, forced to parade with them, and then being forced to keep them there while being severely beaten with truncheons.
Imagine the terror of all those young men lying dead still on the floor of that police armoured police vehicle…
Imagine the poor state of the future mental health of all these young policemen taking part in these cruelties…
Imagine what should happen to that senior policeman with the braided uniform cap and veldtschoens (Bata boots) that stood calmly watching all that was happening and did nothing to stop it…he was even carrying a small child in his arms. Was he saving her for a final beating? Perhaps it was even his own child brought there to see the “fun”!!!
But why should we be surprised. Did “Our Government” not murder more than 20000 of its own people, and it was simply brushed under the carpet as a “moment of madness.”
But just imagine the joy and happiness and prosperity of a Zimbabwe free from ZANU PF?
