ZANU PF has resolved to re-establish the controversial National Youth Service (NYS) known as “maBorder Gezi” with immediate effect allegedly to teach youths on issues to do with loyalty and discipline.
As part of the resolutions at the just-ended Zanu PF congress, outgoing party secretary for youth affairs Absalom Sikhosana said that the NYS should return as a matter of urgency, a sign observers said was the continued use of terror by the regime on those opposed to the party.
The Border Gezi youth graduates have been accused of terrorising opposition supporters in past elections.
“There should be a return of the NYS programme. The NYS programme should be reinstated like yesterday. I also have a message from the youths who said that I should warn everyone who attempts to do anything to this man,” Sikhosana said, pointing at the Mugabe portrait.
Presenting the new amendments to the Zanu PF constitution, the party outgoing secretary for justice Emmerson Mnangagwa said the party had lost faith in the department of commissariat.
He said the party had established the Zanu PF Electoral Commission to oversee all elections from different structures and would be appointed by the President.
“We are creating a new commission to deal with elections. What has happened in the past by the national commissariat is a thing of the past. There will be a
Zanu PF electoral commission appointed by the President. They will be responsible for compiling voter registration and not the department of commissariat,” Mnangagwa said.
Another notable resolution made at the congress was that the employees and board members of the National Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment board be expelled and that Zanu PF cadres be forwarded to take over.
It was also agreed that Zanu PF cadres be employed in parastatals and government.

Seems like these guys have forgotten that Zimbabwe is for all Zimbabweans and not ZANU people alone. How much more of this can we stand?
I hope the international community can see that ZANU does not want to change its ways.They must not invest in Zmbabwe and should impose travel bans on all ministers!If they are cleaver.
And how does that improve people’s lives. I think Zanu is bracing itself for a revolt to follow. Just wonder if the Youths would want to be agents of terror again. I am sure this time there will be a few takers.
