via Zimbabwe Dams About Half Full Signaling Crisis, Minister Says – Bloomberg Business by Chengetai Zvauya & Godfrey Marawanyika January 25, 2016
Zimbabwe’s major dams are about half full and supplies won’t last through the start of the rainy season in October, Water Minister Oppah Muchinguri said.
“These are the chilling effects of the climate phenomenon which has not only affected Zimbabwe, but the whole SADC region,” she said, referring to southern Africa. “This address is a clarion call for all of us to be highly responsible and adopt measures that will ensure that we go through the drought period together.”
The El Nino weather phenomenon has led to droughts across southern Africa this year, curbing production of key crops such as corn and led to water restrictions in the region.

Oh when will they wake up, we knew this was going to happen some months ago. It’s much the same problem in RSA. Haven’t “they” heard of the internet, Sky and BBC TV news ?
in 2016, zimbabwe will fully feel the brunt of the ‘highly responsible’ zanu pf government. to adopt measures now? measures were meant to be taken over the past 35 years. it is too late for measures now.
there is a children’s tale: the ant and the grasshopper. read it dear minister.
nzara, famine.
Must say I support all the above.
It’s not too late however for us to wake up.
We have to remember though, that anything ZANU touches is doomed.
Therefore, coalitions with ZANU rejects will yield another “everything stays the same”.
