The suspects — Isaiah Mugavazi (43), Peter Goredema (26) and Tinashe Dube (27) — allegedly stole the grain worth $2 800 during harvesting between April and May this year.
The three last Thursday appeared before Kwekwe magistrate Taurai Manwere facing theft charges and were remanded in custody to June 24 after they failed to raise the $100 bail which the court had granted them.
Mnangagwa’s younger brother, Patrick Mnangagwa, who is the farm manager, was cited as the complainant in the matter.
It is the State’s case that Goredema, who was employed as a tractor driver, teamed up with his supervisor Mugavazi and loaded the maize into a trailer before driving to a nearby bush.
“They offloaded the maize in the bush and packed the 10 tonnes in sacks which had been provided by Dube. The maize was sold to an unknown buyer who was driving a white pick-up — registration unknown — and nothing was recovered,” part of the State outline read.
Mugavazi is alleged to have been the chief architect after having linked up with the unknown buyer at Muwandi Shopping Centre some two kilometres from Mnangagwa’s farm.
Their lawyer Charles Chigomere confirmed that his clients were still in custody as they were failing to raise the bail money.

Hey lets be realistic, a trailer of tractor, its less than two tonnes, and a tonne is going for $310, who valued the maize to be $2800. Can’t u see that Mnangagwa want to fix his workers. After all the maize is said to been loaded in a pick-up, which I suppose its a one tonner. The value of the stolen property doesn’t warrant no bail. Whoever is presiding over this case is bias. Definitely people can be denied bail for stealing one tractor trailer, which I suppose cost approximately $250- $310.

Let the looting continue downwards. The farm was stolen, the tractor was also stolen. All these thieves who have also brought in their brothers must be charged.

the bags were stolen, the petrol that the pump used was stolen (PMW)probably siphoned out mnangawas ministerial 4×4, the trailer was stolen, the tyres on the trailer were stolen, the tractor was stolen and fixed from another tractor that was stolen from another farmer, and then they have the balls to arrest three employees who probably have had their pay stolen for for months.

Two wrongs don’t make a right . Stealing is bad for the community and country . Encourage people to steal from individuals next they steal from the community then finally from the country . Under mo circumstance should stealing be condoned
