One theory is that Grace is expected to protect the business interests of the Mugabe family, once her husband retires – eventually. The position in the Women’s League would catapult her into the influential politburo. A second theory is that the appointment is her first step towards the presidency (cue canned laughter).
This would create a Mugabe dynasty which, for most, is a half scary, half hilarious prospect. While anything is possible, it is hard to imagine Grace managing the chess game that is politics. It is one thing to wangle one’s way from the typing desk to State House. But it is a different game to outsmart more experienced candidates within Zanu (PF). By her own admission, Grace is not a Marie Curie.

The likes of Joice Mujuru and Emmerson Mnangagwa will feel they have been in the trenches long enough to take over. But, there is a third, yet to be explored theory: Grace Mugabe’s impending appointment is another Zanu (PF) diversionary ploy.
A year after Mugabe Nikuved his way into a 7th term in office, Zimbabwe’s economy continues to wither. Unemployment is rapidly heading towards 90%. The majority twiddle their thumbs most of the day and those too embarrassed to admit their joblessness will claim to be ‘self-employed.’ The country’s roads are dilapidated. Water and electricity supply is uncertain. Between now and August – the time of the Women’s League Congress – Zanu (PF) most likely hopes that Zimbabweans will be preoccupied with pointless discussions about Grace’s promotion.

The reason why so many African countries struggle economically is because of this kind of BS. When people elect someone as their leader it does NOT mean they now OWN the country. They are supposed to SERVE the people & not treat the country as PERSONAL PROPERTY. A country is supposed to be run like a business with accountability, transparency, vision, but to add to that, we need leaders that are genuinely willing to do what’s best for the people they serve.
Shamu, BS is a very good word to describe exactly what is going on in Zimbabwe. May the Lord pull down this evil ‘throne’ and shatter it completely. Zimbabwe does NOT need this kind of thinking in any way at all. I refuse to elevate any man or woman in any way and many in Zim have done that with RGM and ZPF. It is a stench in God’s nostrils. May the Lord Himself raise up a man after His own heart to lead our nation. Collectively we must stand up and say NO! Including those with half a grain of common sense in ZPF. Who the heck does Bob think he is???
How can someone manage a country if they haven’t got a university diploma in politics…?? look the results! An academic exam that Mugabe would failed big time!! Such Politic University Diploma should be a requirement for your “new” President. Urban Management skills, etc, should also be considered or else, anybody can be elected with no clue how to rule and bring to prosperity a country. Think about it! Don’t make the same mistake twice.
When Mugabe says “my Zimbabwe!” he’s not speaking figuratively. To him it’s a simple statement of fact
Why are we even discussing dis-Grace and the Woman’s League, or Mujuru or Mnangagwa, they will all be defeated, arrested, tried and jailed after 2018.
Mugabe, God forbid he is still alive then, will be on the fast, one way track, to The Hague. Woo Hoo!

The only thing that does not change is God. Mugabe can try and manoeuvre any way he wants but he is just human like Hussein, Gadaffi, Mengistu Haile Mariam and others. He has held this country to ransom for years. Now age has taken over. He can try to put who or what in his place but it won’t work.Those that think they will do the same after Mugabe are sadly mistaken. Already you can hear silent dissent within his own ranks. A few MP’s from the Zanu Party are starting to question policies. Soldiers are being sent home on unpaid leave. Che’guevara we are not his, and it is not his. He thinks so but his is sadly mistaken.

What pains me is Grace even tries to legitimaze herself using God’s. God can not be mocked Mugabe Grace neZanu pf muchakohwa zvamakarima
