The rise of Grace

via The rise of Grace | The Zimbabwean 30 July 2014 by Jera

When 24-year-old Grace Marufu was pecking away at the keyboard of a Word Perfect machine, she never imagined she would someday oversee the interior décor at State House. But the demise of Mugabe’s wife, Sally, changed all that. What was once a shameful affair with a man four decades her senior became a marriage.

Instantly, she went from a government typing pool to a mansion with a swimming pool.

Glancing in the rear-view mirror of the ‘Zim 1’ limousine, the typing pool is a long way back. She became known for her overseas shopping trips and her lavish headgear, in mimicry of the Yoruba tradition.

She drew chuckles whenever she appeared on television, stammering ineloquently through her speeches – “I mean, I mean, I mean…”

While her ageing husband slept through AU and Sadc seminars, the first lady whiled away time by grabbing real estate, building palaces and evicting over 300 Mazowe families who had settled on a piece of land she coveted.

Perhaps, like her husband, Grace will insist on being known by a lengthy title; First Lady, Chairwoman of Zanu (PF) Women’s League and Matron of Orphanage. This is after all the land where people are obsessed with titles to the point of inventing doctorates and engineer titles. Engineer so-and-so, Doctor of Such-and-such.

After the announcement was made by current Women’s League chairperson, Oppah Muchinguri, speculations began.

We need to keep encouraging writing but it’s much easier if people start with simpler topics.

“The rise of Grace” sounds like a book title. However, I would prefer a title that reads something like “The Rise & FALL of Grace.”

Zanu pf is now Gushungo PF. He is personalizing everything that he comes across. Very soon Chatunga will be youth leader for Zanu. Watch this space Mugabe is building a dynasty while ordinary zimbabweans sit back and enjoying drinking polluted water. It’s time to wake up my friends. Biti has to grow up and understand that divided we cannot remove the dynastery.

The faster they come, the harder they fall. This spells the beginning of the end for Zanu and Mugabe dynasty.

With the total confusion within all parties,a lady must sort out the problem. There is nothing wrong with Grace for presidency!
She is not dull or ignorant. She has been at the State House for over 10 years and she knows the secrets.
I support her for the presidency and she will neutralize a lot of succession issues in Zimbabwe. Mugabe is smart and his choice can never be wrong!
Now lets everybody contest against Grace!

Eish! We all know ZPF have made cataclysmic mistakes and we all speculate where some of those so called degrees come from but Madam Disgrace?????? Come on Oppah! Where the heck is your common sense? Are ZPF so desperate to protect their ill gotten gains that anyone will do. Where the heck are the opposition? Killing each other with friendly fire! Wake up Zimbabwe! Wake up Zimbabwe!

The cat Grace is now among the pigeons. In my view Oppah Muchinguri should not allow this coup. How can Grace rise from a political nonentity to Secretary for Women’s League? ZPF is now cracked in the seams and will soon bare itself naked.

The last thing dictators and their whores want(almost always – check them out!) is mockery, satire and sniggering. So drop the sanctimonious hand-wringing and despair. Instead, rejoice at the chance to mock, deride and satirise such overblown non-entities. Grace! A pineapple for your head? It symbolises hospitality and you have been so hospitable with your reproductive organs! (P.S. Please make sure your sons don’t take any IQ/paternity tests).

Life is so suprising and I thought Mugabe is going to get away with murder but alas Disgrace will pay for all the wrongs, she is so stupid, no intelligent Zimbabwean is going to stand for this rubbish, and where is the so called backbone of ZNPF in all this, they are being told blatantly that they are incapable of ruling, pathetiC lot so scared to even comment.

This was planned long tym ago,if u look at the death of Rex (to weaken Joice’s power base)and Mugabe’reluctance to nominate a successor,u cud c tht it was a plan to jetison Gucci into the office,
