Comrade, ambassador – pick a title – we once had savings. Remember? Billions of dollars – all lost when the Zimdollar was printed to worthlessness by Zanu (PF).
Only God and the cousins in the Diaspora have saved the impoverished majority from starvation. Approximately $3,5billion is expected to be remitted from the Diaspora this year. That alarming figure – which is almost equal to Chinamasa’s $4billion national budget – speaks volumes about the level of poverty in Zimbabwe.
The call to ‘save money’ might have been understandable if the former ambassador had visited a handful of randomly selected homes in Mbare and, in each one, witnessed people spilling Champagne on Persian rugs, tossing uneaten pizzas like flying saucers and spit-roasting a whole cow in the fireplace.
Khaya Moyo’s remarks are condescending if not offensive. He may as well be as insensitive as to invite a one-armed man to enter the parallel bar gymnastics.
The trouble with our leaders is that they have created their own imaginary little world which is so far removed from our reality of one meal a day. Only a few weeks back, Khaya Moyo urged exiled Zimbabweans to return home – ludicrous sentiments which were later echoed by another out-of-touch politician, Joice Mujuru.

Brilliant caricature of the reality of Zimbabwean politics and politicians!
Indeed these same people forget that, without the diaspora’s contribution to the fiscus this country would have been on its knees years ago.
The conclusion? They want people to return from the diaspora so that more of the population descends into poverty. Then we all become passive, starving, and dying subjects.
The man is a buttock. An exemplar of our ZANU leadership. He is not even the stupidest one.
Now, there is a thought.
How to switch off that 3.5 billion stipend to ZANU!!
When politicians know they can be voted out of power they tend to perform better. This why ZANU made sure they have complete control of the voting machinery so they can keep themselves in power whether we vote for them or not. So sad!
We once had a pension. We once had money in our F.C.As. We once had enough money to feed ourselves, educate our kids, cover medical expenses. The ZANU swines have made a good job of that. Maybe the only thing they are good at actually.
I have been following the Zimbabwe situation for 3 years now from Australia. I would love to comment– but– the repercussions to my family who still live in Zimbabwe– it’s not worth it. keep up your good work anyway
