Stop this nonsense: Taffs

Commercial Farmers Union (CFU) president, Charles Taffs, has described as “nonsense” the recent murder of a Guruve farmer, Malcolm Francis and his daughter, Catherine and called for an end to violence against farmers.

The two were attacked by unknown assailants on May 10 and were found tied to a tree where police recovered various weapons, among them knobkerries and metal rods, in addition to condoms, suggesting that Catherine was raped before being attacked.

They were discovered by his wife and an unnamed relative, and Catherine had an axe embedded in the head.

Catherine, was cremated yesterday died on Wednesday last week while Malcolm succumbed to the wounds he had sustained last Tuesday.

He is likely to be cremated sometime next week, after which a joint memorial service will be conducted.

“This nonsense has to stop,” said Taffs, referring to the murder of Malcolm and his daughter.

“The memorial is going to be a small and private affair but Malcolm’s body is still with the police because this is a police matter,” said Taffs, adding that the two might be cremated.

He said his organisation would issue a solidarity statement to the family on Friday, a day on which CFU is set to hold a press conference on the state of farming in Zimbabwe.

Minister of State for Mashonaland Central, Martin Dinha is on record calling on the remaining white farmers to beef up their security, revealing that the police were investigating the two murders.

Police investigating – ha ha ha!

When it comes to farm matters all they ever say is “it is political”. Nothing ever gets done. There is no justice for white farmers on the land. Should they ever uphold the rule of law then a whole new can of worms gets opened particularly when it comes to the white farmers remaining in Zimbabwe.

Sincere condolences to the Francis family. There are no words.

Beef up security….it is the states’ job to protect it’s citizens. It is long overdue that they start doing their most basic job under the constitution! They will be held to account.
Prayers are with the Francis family at this most terrrible time.

When a leaders and a ruling party teach their people to hate and take revenge; when a leader teaches tribalism and racialism this is what happens. God abhors this so much and he will judge. That judgment is knocking at RGM’s door as it is at the door of ZPF.

This is much more than ‘nonsense’ it murder at it’s worst. If Dinha is serious he should use his office to ensure that the cowardly scum who did this are arrested & prosecuted. Anything less is totally unacceptable!

How ignorant is Charles Taft to use the word “nonsense”. This is a terrible tragedy and the world should be made aware of this barbaric country. Deepest sympathy to the Francis family

I agree, the idiot uses the word “nonsense”, when
“murder, killing, rape, butchery, slaughter would
      be more to the point.
