MDC-Renewal not in a hurry to launch new party

via Bulawayo24 NEWS | MDC-Renewal not in a hurry to launch new party 06 July 2014

FORMER energy minister and key MDC Renewal Team figure, Elton Mangoma said the Renewal Team would not hurry to form a new political party until the group holds its inaugural congress in March next year.

“For now we have not changed our name; we are the genuine MDC. The issue of whether we should continue using the name MDC or not will only be decided by congress which we hope to hold in March next year,” said Mangoma.

The former Makoni North legislator said that his party has already agreed in principal with Zapu, Mavambo, National Constitutional Assembly (NCA) and the Welshman Ncube led MDC to form a grand coalition to unseat Zanu (PF).

He insisted that the MDC-T and its leader Morgan Tsvangirai will not be part of coalition.

“Tsvangirai cannot be part of us because he had become part of the problem. We want to kill the big man syndrome and go back to the values and ethos of the original MDC. We do not want a situation where individuals become bigger that institutions.”

Nhai Mangoma, What do you mean by original MDC when you only joined, together with Prof Dzinotyiwei, from ZIP in 2006? You do not have a following and you are a not quatifiable by any means and you are rushing off to join a grand coalition? Put your thinking cap on first please!!! This is a joke for sure!!!

Mangoma must be a bit deluded or he takes Zimbabweans for granted. How can that coalition be called “grand”, really? Add to that with such power hungry personas involved how long before they start tearing each other party maybe only to form another grand coalition.

Mangoma is either hoping Tsvangirai will capitulate before their congress and ‘abdicate his throne’ or by some miracle Tsvangirai will vanish and bequeath his throne to Mangoma’s lil party otherwise for the life of me I ca’t see what all this trepidation is in aid of. Just bite the bullet or Are you chicken??

Do not pretend to be doing something whilst u know u are doing nothing to save Zim.U are pursuing self interest in the same mode as Mavambo project. U are Mavambo 2 l hope u are going to be handsomely remunerated while the majority of the population suffer.

MDC yawora. They have lost direction, purpose and reason for their existence.
We used to be behind these cadres, now its a game of thrones where the population at large suffers. Tsvangirai is just a dictator yet Biti and Mangoma have not come up with the manifesto that makes them different to their dictator Tsvangirai. It will fall in the oblivion of Zanu Ndonga and all other opposition that came and go. We are surely hearding back to live the dream of baba Chatunga’s one party state. What a shame for such a party to fall from grace to grass.

Excellent; we dont want anything smelling like Tswangirayi in future; destroy every Tswangirayi remnant and start afresh.
