via Bulawayo24 NEWS | Tsvangirai hits back at Biti, Nkomo over love scandals 20 July 2014
MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai yesterday took a dig at the private lives of the renewal faction leaders Tendai Biti and Samuel Sipepa Nkomo saying the two are not qualified to criticise him for his love scandals.
Tsvangirai told members at the Bulawayo Small City Hall that he was not averse to criticism, but was against personal attacks.
“If you say Tsvangirai I don’t agree with you on this principle, I have no problem with that,” he said.
“My problem comes when your fight becomes personal. You spent the whole day saying Tsvangirai and his women. I will ask you, don’t you have women also?”
“I told these boys from the renewal team not to be personal, but focus on the issues of principle where we may differ.
“I said if you continue I will tell you that you took someone’s wife when you are an elder in the church (referring to Sipepa Nkomo).
“I will also tell you that you left Harare saying you were going to Nyanga, but later got involved in an accident in Chegutu while in the company of a girlfriend (in reference to Biti).”
Biti was in 2010 involved in an accident when his car collided with a lorry near Chegutu.
Sipepa Nkomo in 2009 divorced his wife of 35 years to marry his current wife Roselyn who was a divorcee.
During a recent meeting at Stanely Square, Biti kept referring to Tsvangirai as Gumbura after incarcerated church leader Robert Martin Gumbura.
Gumbura raped a number of women from his congregation, leading to his incarceration.
Tsvangirai has been rocked by a string of love scandals since the death of his wife Susan in a car accident in 2009.
President Robert Mugabe on Thursday said he felt pity for Tsvangirai each time his love scandals were splashed in the media.
The former prime minister said the renewal team should focus on ways to remove Zanu PF from power.
“Mugabe should be pushed out of power not to wait for a miracle to happen,” he said.
“He should know that he has no legitimacy. Zanu PF has already reached the dead end. Where will it go?
“They are now saying let’s talk. If they come now, we would be a little bit clever. We will start by dismantling their hegemony and then form a new government.
“Last time I think we were a bit foolish by going into a GNU (Government of Nation Unity) without destroying this hegemony. However, we have learnt from our mistakes.”
He said MDC-T, which is reeling under power struggles, would emerge stronger from the congress slated for October.
Tsvangirai was in Bulawayo to explain guidelines for the elective congress scheduled for Harare.

Seems to me none of them can keep it in their pants???
Nice gossip,we were not there boys.Tell us all,who else!!!Its so toxic when friends lock horns nee!!!
As I said where it comes to affairs they all have dirty hands.
too much time wasted on bickering
and in the meantime the ordinary people are continuing to suffer
These guys are all playing into ZANU-PF’s hands. Come next elections and Mugabe will be having a lot of ammunition to destroy them. Seems to me MDC is good at self destructing themselves! Guys I can’t help but feel that we really need a third serious and mature political party in this country.
Sipho, wake up.
The people are solidly behind the MDC despite the desperate attempts by ZANU to destabilise and destroy.
Biti and Co. are already self-destructing with the donor community realising the true lie of the land.
The struggle is a long arduous one.
What will the people do besides just mourn and groan about ZANU PF? And then wait for a miracle to happen come next elections. Do you think ZANU PF is playing? They are busy strategizing while these fools tear each other apart. Yes Tsvangirai has grassroots support but you will be foolish to think that this is enough.
The guy is intellectually challenged, loved by the masses as he is.
He never has a plan B.
Is good at shooting himself in the foot and is prone to so many blunders.
There is no way the current opposition will defeat ZANU PF…… no way at all!
Sipho, for your own information which by now should be general knowledge, ZANU has never won any elections in the past 15 to 20years. They have been rigging elections. 2008 we waited for Presidential results for more than a month when all results had been announced. What was happening when the same results announced at polling stations were good enough to determine the rural council, Senate, MPs etc??? 2013 we all know what happened??? It was the usual raping of the nation.
Ngoto
Which people? Which MDC?
Well said Zimguard80.
Sipho has a point though.
Another tack is needed if we are going to see real change in Zim.
ZANU cannot be allowed to dictate terms all the time at all.
At the same time, succumbing to the “Clueless, Hapless” mindset in the opposition leadership debate, leads to the Ncube/Mtambara debacle.
Why bother to respond to this Sipho pseudo-zanoid. This mentality of appearing to be thinking has been around for some time. No wonder someone identified him as Tanonoka. At least Biti, Ncube and MT are fighting the monster while this guy is busy criticizing.
If you have something worth noting between your legs, why dont you throw in your name and stand principled?
We can’t all be contesting bro. Some of us have to be advisers/critics/observers etc. That’s what should happen in a democracy. And who said if you are not contesting you have to shut up? The guy is purporting to represent us so we have a right to criticize him when he doesn’t deliver what we voted him to do. You guys have gotten so used to dictatorship that you do not remember how a democratic society should function.
I don’t think Sipho is a “Zanoid”. The man is just expressing an opinion which I do think he has a point. I don’t agree that Tsangirayi is intellectually challenged. It does not mean that because a person has no degree and maybe is not educated to the level of his colleagues he is intellectually challenged. This man has successfully led a labour movement. He has given Mugabe sleepless nights. He has been the most successful challenge to Mugabe and is the first man to outright beat Zanu pf as a Party and Robert Mugabe as an individual candidate. He put together a group of people that shook the Zanu administration to the core. Challenged? No. Underestimated. Yes . By who? Zanu and the so called renewal Clowns.
Go ahead MT and hit also below the belt!!
Ya who is Holier than thou now?
As we can see all. There was hype when the renewal team was having countless coffee times with diplomats. They thought it was a concrete support, yet the diplomats wanted to scrutinise them, and they saw in the team an empty drum.Support lies with the people, while the name Mugabe sticks like glue to ZANU fundamentalists in rural areas(not looking down upon them), let the face of opposition stick even harder in urban areas.Biti and crew thought they could wipe off Tvangirai” s emotioanal attachment with the masses like dust and soap. That is not possible.
Now the renewal team is tired of barking at a shadow, MDC needs to draw up election guidelines of which they must not move an inch from. Those guidelines must be tabled and forwarded to the masses.
While in the NGO, the people thought Biti, as a principal negotiator was for the people, this wasn’t so.No more candidate imposition, no more the Eric Knights, MDC needs people who are in the people. Not people who want to represent Mbare from Gunhill
But you Tswangirayi; okwakho kuphambili. How can you go through so many women within such a short space of time being a man of your age?
You cant compare yourself to Biti; he is a youngster; you are a grand father with a grown up son Edwen. I wonder what he thinks of his father.
As for Siphepha, you are only quoting one example – this doesn’t match your atheletic prowess in bed man. Stop with the excuses and cleanse your image. Besides you were and still are an aspiring Head of State/President; they are not. Compare apples with apples!!
But you Tswangirayi; okwakho kuphambili. t
But you Tswangirayi; okwakho kuphambili. They are all the same. Others are just more easy to spot than others. You just hate the one more.
Doctor;
No its not the same. Tswangirayi wants to be President of this country – that is the difference. The others are rebels from his party. Once they seek the highest office in the land, that is when we will start measuring them by the same standards. Okwamanje, hayi bo!
For Pete’s sake boys – keep your zips firmly closed, your mouths shut and get on with sorting this country out and GROW UP. Makes one sick reading this rubbish
Phys thanks for the shake up. This is totally rubbish.I don’t even know why I got into this particular debate.
Hapana munhu asingade vakadzi kunze kwengochani so stop silly cheap denigrations. We want bread and butter issues. Ivo vakadzi vacho vanodawo varume thats nature. Wake up and develop Zimbabwe.
All these are the sort of little braindead men in littel girls’ blouses who in the very olden days would be sent to herd goats because they give “REAL MEN” a bad name. They have become as trivial and as inane as Robert Mugabe always at pains to score cheap points. The gullible supporters are no worse they cheer when these little digs are flung about at rallies. Pathetic the whole lot of them.
It is people like Sipho who do not want to do things for themselves to liberate ourselves. ZANU PF must be told enough is enough, we need change and that change comes with the MDC – T.
