The ZANU-PF Commissariat department will beginning today embark on a country-wide tour to assess and strengthen party structures. The revolutionary party’s Secretary for the Commissariat Cde Saviour Kasukuwere, said the tour would start with a meeting to be held in the Mashonaland East capital Marondera today and would also deal with outstanding disciplinary issues.

“We will be touring the provinces to assess and strengthen the structures from the grassroots level and also deal with any outstanding issues of discipline that are there.

“We will begin with Mashonaland East on Saturday (today) and go on to other provinces and we hope that this will be concluded as soon as possible,” he added.

He reiterated that moratorium on suspensions of party members as per the directive issued last year still stood and warned that anyone violating the instruction risked facing disciplinary action.

“Once we have indicated our position we expect structures of the party to respect them as announced. Those who try to resist will do so at their own cost because that amounts to indiscipline and they will be dealt with accordingly,” Cde Kasukuwere said.

The revolutionary party has indicated that the structures that existed at the time of Congress should remain in place and any changes would have to be approved by the Politburo and President Mugabe.
