As the economy slides deeper into quicksand and as Ebola rumours sweep through the country, the Grace Mugabe campaign bus rolls on. In all the Grace hype, Robert Mugabe has been conspicuous by his absence. While Grace gave another ineloquent address, Mugabe was at Bindura University, presiding over the graduation ceremony.
The nation expected another shocker – maybe a PhD for Joseph Chinotimba, or a Masters for grade 2 dropout Masango Matambanadzo – but thankfully the event passed without any undeserving politicians walking away with degrees. While there were no scandals at Bindura University, on the campaign trail, first lady Grace was causing heart rates to escalate, and not for good reasons.
In Gweru Grace Mugabe flatly told the nation that the Mazoe farm she snatched during her husband’s chaotic land “reform” programme was hers for keeps. And that she would shed blood, if anybody dared to take it from her. We are not sure whether anybody had threatened to take the farm but Grace somehow felt compelled to let us know about her bloodlust.
At another rally Grace threatened to “take over”. At this point, many eyebrows arched, as it became clear that the first lady had ambitions beyond the presidential cheerleading squad that is the Women’s League. Eyebrows arched even higher, almost connecting with hairlines, when Grace blurted out “forward with one party state”, something which is at disagreement with the constitution.

Please could someone speak to the powers that be at DSTV and ask them to follow Grace and show her daily on the reality/comedy channel. I’m sure they’ll get more viewers than the barclays premier league
Grace is the Zanu PF show piece! And what a show! She will destroy any last vestige of Zanu PF support that is not connected to handouts and patronage.
