MDC-T in danger of oblivion

via MDC-T in danger of oblivion | SW Radio Africa July 30, 2014 by Mthulisi Mathuthu

Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition chairman Dewa Mavhinga has said the MDC-T has been diminished by petty personality and ego clashes.

Speaking to SW Radio Africa’s Cutting Edge programme Mavhinga said it was high time the MDC factions, including the MDC-N which split from the main party nine years ago, realised that they were relevant only in as far as they carried the hopes of the majority of Zimbabweans. People are disappointed with the movement because of the factional fighting and the opposition leadership had better take that into consideration.

Mavhinga said unless the MDC rises above factional fights, another movement could emerge and claim their space which they have been occupying, which could see the party sliding into oblivion.

He said: ‘Sometimes when people are in politics they may not be in a position to see the bigger picture but it will help them if they put themselves in the position of the rest of the Zimbabweans. They will be able to see that it doesn’t help to place personal interests ahead of the people’s needs and desires.’

He added: ‘This is a crisis moment and as such it is the time when true leadership qualities must be exhibited. Both the MDC and the civil society must reflect on this.’

Mavhinga said this at a time when chances of the MDC-T factions ever reuniting were recently extinguished. Last Friday the MDC-Team Renewal led by Tendai Biti named its executive in a development which analysts said was the clearest sign so far that the faction was ready to become a separate political party.

The MDC-T split into two factions earlier this year after the renewal team attempted to oust party leader Morgan Tsvangirai on the basis that he had overstayed his welcome and was dictatorial in his leadership style. But Tsvangirai loyalists stood by their leader and the party split.

Since then the two factions have remained unyielding, with insults frequently traded between the officials. At times there have been reports of violent clashes over party properties across the country.

It all shows how petty, pathetic and immature Zimbabwe’s politicians are. the MDC need to serious pull themselves towards themselves. I do not believe there are any words to describe the disappointment of all this for most of us. For me I have to say that there was a huge lesson in this for me from the Lord Himself. His warning that, “blessed is the man who trusts in God and cursed is the man who trusts in man, took on new meaning for me. Us Zimbabweans became so desperate for a “Moses” for want of a better word that we took our eyes off God and put them on a man. It is time for the Zimbabwean church to pray and repent. Repent and pray. We should be on our faces in broken heartedness due to the sin and brokeness of our nation.

I searched for your Fiji movie and felt humbled when the Fiji president accepted Christ in public and was prayed on. I cannot ever imagine Mugabe kneeling down and asking for forgiveness for all the murders and evil that he directly caused. But, everyone has his own Damascus experience and that time will come before he faces his maker.

I am holding my breath for Grace and Bob to have Damascus moment. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. The Mugabes sure don’t have that wisdom if they did they should have stepped down long back.We will not do God’s work let Him alone judge them.

OF COURSE MORGAN ERRED, BUT LOGIC SEEMS TO POINT TO THE FACT THAT THE EVENTS LEADING TO MDC DEFEAT IN 2013 ELECTIONS WERE ENGINEERED BY BITI ET AL. LIKE GOING TO ELECTIONS WITHOUT A VOTERS’ ROLL. IT WAS AN INSIDE JOB TO LATER DISCREDIT MORGAN FOR THE PROBLEM, BUT WISDOM SAYS IT WAS A COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY IN WHICH BITI ET AL HAD A HAND. BITI ET AL ARE WEEVILS AND MORGAN IS A PHILANDERER PAR EXCELLENCE. BUT THE SCHISM IS BLAMED ON BITI. HERE WE MUST SEPARATE PERSONAL AMBITIONS FROM WISHES OF ALL SUPPOERTS OF MDC WHO WERE SHOCKED BY BITI’S GREEDY BEHAVIOUR BARELY RECOVERED FROM MORGAN’S PHILANDERING. I THING BOTH BUGGERS ARE A PROBLEM. WE MUST GET RID OF THIS PARTY A GET A NEW ONE. ZANUPF IS OBVIOUSLY ARROGANT AND UNWILLING TO DO THE ECONOMY. WE ARE IN A FIX IN ZIM. WOW

Prophets of doom have since written off MDC ina Tsvangirai from the political arena,But this guy keeps on bouncing back.for 15 years Tsvangirai fighting Mugabe hoping to unseat him one day. Some have come formed parties which did not see the light of day.its so ironic that those who criticise the politics of Zimbabwe find comfort in Attacking Tsvangirai rather than Mugabe the architect of our miseries. When one trys to do good in a world of cowards they always say ahhh hameno hake tichaona kuti achaita sei?haambozvikwanisi izvi, ahh anohura ahhh anodya mari, and all sorts of nonsense. What we want is people who stand for what they believe in and be prepared to fight for it,like Tsvangirai irregadless of many who will stand in your way ,discouraging you, beating u,throwing mahure along your path, planting vanaJudas escariot in his party …..all these and more making sure that and the end of it we will say ahhh takambokuudzai kuti haabudirire.Cowards they say, die several times before they actual die.U pencil oblivion of MDC-T but each time, this party comes out stronger than before,it is all so maturing in politics and when its time comes it will be fit to take this country to canaan. Some of us we have come to understand that things they dont just happen they happen for a reason. If tsvangirai has won previous elections surely chances are, there was going to be blood shed cause madhara saw that its easy to go with nothing after ruling for so long thats why currently they have gone into hyper drive to loot because the end is neigh!.Suddenly they are building staet of the art dairy farms, Chicken runs, grabbing expanses of land, looting mineral resources, protecting each other in their plundering activities.
We all want change of the status qoue, and so far i only see Tsvangirai being the only one bold enough to stand a gainst ZANU.Muregei atiburire uchi isu tozonumbora hedu nyuchi pasisina. The long short of it lets all rally behing this guy to remove ZANU and have a better Zimbabwe, turn the wheels of one party state mentality then after we all form our stupid parties and try our luck
