Mesmerised in Beijing

via Mesmerised in Beijing | The Zimbabwean 9 July 2014 by Jera

Mesmerised by first world splendour of Beijing, the people entrusted with the lives of 13million Zimbabweans shopped so hard that they lost track of time. And the value of time is not something that the honourable MPs care about. In two weeks’ time, it will be a full year since this do-nothing, luxury-car-driving bunch was elected (or rigged) into the august house.

It is almost impossible to believe that this group of self-serving parliamentarians cares much for the constituents, whose daily problems range from Matebeleland’s perennial hunger to Chingwizi’s homelessness and disease. When the honourable MPs get around to amending these 450 laws, perhaps they can also debate a new term of address because “honourable” has long become unfitting.

Deputy foreign affairs minister Chris Mutsvanga is foaming at the mouth and howling at the moon in anger because his boss, Minister Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, omitted him from a delegation to China.

Mutsvanga says he is more capable and more experienced than the junior officials who have travelled to the Far East without him. Placed on a glass slide and viewed under a microscope, the truth might show traces of Mutsvanga’s anger at the opportunity to claim travel allowances and hit the shopping malls.

During the two week private China visit he clocked within China over 15000km of air travel, high speed train and luxury bus ride scouting for business. he met several global companies including CITIC #172 in Global Fortune 500 and Tsingshan Steel Group, the world’s #1 stainless steel producer. Most exciting, he signed an MOU for introducing and developing hybrid rice in Zimbabwe with renowned Professor Yuan Longping, a Nobel Peace Prize winner in service to global food security.

For your information he and his accompanying spouse, Senator Mutsvangwa travelled business class on Ethiopian Airways latest state of the art Boeing 787. For two weeks they booked in 5 star hotels in Beijing, Changsha, Guangzhou, Wenzhou and Shijiazhuang.

you may recall that Mutsvangwa the budinessman of Moncris Pvt Ltd introduced the first Compact Dist device to Zimbabwe, the first modem, exhibited the first mobile phone, helped install first GSM switch with NetOne, pioneered internet in Zimbabwe with TelOne setting up hub with Cisco and was technology brains behind TelOne broadband with Alcatel.

I have no respect for MP’s to start with but they have reached a new low in my estimate.

Chris Mutsvanga foaming at the mouth like a rabid dog takes the biscuit. More experienced at what exactly ?? Shopping? He reckons he could have taken this group of “ZUZE COMES TO TOWN” bafoons to the best Zhing-Zhong Market. Laughable!
