EDUCATION minister Lazarus Dokora and Masvingo provincial affairs minister Kudakwashe Bhasikiti top the list of government officials who are facing the axe in President Mugabe’s next reshuffle, Newzimbabwe.com has heard.

Sources said a number of permanent secretaries will also be relieved of their duties as soon as Mugabe returns from his annual holiday.

“Permanent secretaries are also going to face the boot because they are alleged to be pro Mujuru faction and they played a role in strategically placing the Mujuru people in influential positions,” a source said.

Mugabe has since relieved 15 ministers and Mujuru of their duties following the unearthing of alleged plans to overthrow him.

Top government sources said the axe of vengeance will fall yet again as soon as Mugabe arrives from the Far East where he is holidaying together with members of the First Family.

Dokora, a strong former vice president Joice Mujuru ally, will pave the way for the first lady Grace Mugabe who will be appointed gender minister as a non-constituent MP, sources said.

Legally Mugabe can appoint five non-constituency members of Parliament, which he did in the case of Agriculture minister Joseph Made, information minister Jonathan Moyo, education minister Dokora, Mashonaland central provincial affairs minister Martin Dinha and Mashonaland West provincial affairs minister Faber Chidarikire.

However, in order to accommodate his wife, Grace, Mugabe has to drop one non-constituency MP and Dokora is the target following his association with the emasculated Mujuru faction.

Bhasikiti has already been told by Mugabe that he belongs in the “wrong basket.”

Moreover the Masvingo provincial affairs minister may already have dug his own grave by saying that Mugabe is old and senile, an allegation which he denies and for which he is suing a fellow party official.
