The Zambian presidential election was held on Tuesday the 20th and extended to Wednesday due to bad weather in some parts of the country. The council noted that the polling day was peaceful and people cast their votes without coercion, undue influence or intimidation.

The late President Sata was Zambia’s 5th president and he died in London last October at the age of 77.

President Mugabe was accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister, Cde Simbarashe Mumbengegwi.

The irony of going to the inauguration of the 6th president since independence, seems to be lost on him.
