ZANU PF youths are planning to invade former Minister of Information and Technology Webster Shamu’s farms in Chegutu.

Shamu is among the 16 ministers and deputies fired from cabinet by President Robert Mugabe after the ZANU PF 6th Congress.

He also lost his central committee position with his name being withdrawn at the last minute and replaced by Christopher Mutsvangwa.

Shamu was accused of fanning factionalism and engaging in acts of corruption in the Mashonaland West province and breaching some sections of the ZANU PF constitution.

A source in Chegutu told NewZimbabwe.com that Shamu is a multiple-farm owner which goes against the party and government policy of one-man-one farm.

Shamu, who is also the former Zanu PF secretary for the commissariat, is said to be the owner of Lambourne and Selous Tobacco Estate farms in Chegutu.

“Landless youths are going to occupy one of his farms in the next few days so that they benefit from land redistribution. We have sent our people to tell Shamu to choose one farm which he wants to remain with and the feedback we got was that one farm belongs to his child which we know is a lie,” said a source.

According to the source the child resides in South Africa.

Shamu could not be reached for comment.

The source said the youths were also targeting other heavy weights in the Mashonaland West province, among them the new party secretary for administration Ignatius Chombo and Edna Madzongwe.

The source alleged that both Chombo and Madzongwe were subletting their farms.

At some point Chombo was reported to own five farms namely Allan Grange, Oldham, Maple leaf, Glentwyn and Shingiri all in Mashonaland West province.

Madzongwe is rumoured to have six farms including Stockdale and Aitape.

Chickens come home to roost. Shamus son does live in SA. Correction……..Madzonge has gone through 15 farms, finally settling on Stockdale, which is stuffed. What the hell does Madzongwe know about exporting oranges?

Let us take all the farms of the “garmatox”. Why should these sellouts continue enjoying at the expense of loyalist. The next move should target their mines as well.
