Zimbabwe government backs ‘Judgement Night’

via Govt backs ‘Judgement Night’ – DailyNews Live by Helen Kadirire  6 APRIL 2014

Walter Mzembi, minister of Tourism and Hospitality Management, said yesterday the government had endorsed the United Family International’s “Judgement Night” to be held on April 19.

More than 150 000 people, including foreigners, are expected to attend Emmanuel Makandiwa’s “Judgement Night” prayer session at the National Sports Stadium.

Mzembi said already, international delegates had started arriving for the convention, which he said promotes religious tourism.

“Judgement night has the potential to become a major event on the Christian calendar worldwide in the next few years, something like our own religious World Cup and it is in this area of its own size that government has been attracted,” Mzembi told a news conference yesterday

“And we do not talk to individuals as government and we deal with constituencies and this is a constituency on its own. We hope that going forward it can raise a new generation of cadres that are going into business and various facets of life but steeped in the Christian values.”

He said people have gradually lost their values and it was only the Church that can communicate without fear or favour, in a non-partisan way restoration of those values.

Last year, Judgement Night was cancelled at the last minute after administrators of the venue drilled holes in Makandiwa’s plans by making too many demands which the church could not meet.

Mzembi attributed the cancellation of last year’s Judgement Night to squabbles within the unity government.

“Because of the cross communications then, we were speaking in tongues, no one could understand us,” Mzembi said. “On the one hand, MDC could say this and we would say that in Zanu PF and until we stalled this project and it could not happen. They were trying to milk the spiritual project.

“But today as a Zanu PF government, we are very conscious of the importance of this project to the nationhood and our national values as Zimbabweans. We support them so that they get competitive rates in the transport, accommodation and even in the venues.”

Mzembi indicated that church-inspired business was the way to go, adding not even politicians could pull the crowds that religious conventions attract.

He said that such huge crowds of people gather to get spiritual food for their hungry souls, hence the buzz in religious gatherings.

“There is a lot of buzz in the transport industry where people are constantly in motion, going to church and it is moving certain sections of our economic life but no one is measuring it,” Mzembi said. “If you cannot measure it, you cannot know it and if you cannot know it you cannot incentivise it.

“In tourism, we know how to incentivise this and this is why we went lobbying for Statutory Instrument (SI) 124 and 199 to extend its benefits to the religious sector, provided they demonstrate to us that there is going to be economic value for the people of Zimbabwe. The church is free to exploit this SI’s to mutual advantage.”

Here comes Mzembi with another plan to milk out people’s pockets. What’s this judgement day all about ? I can only believe it if true judges are put in place and people like Cuthbert Dube and other SalaryGates criminals prosecuted.

Who said it is judgement day? Judgement Day will come when God ends human life in its current form and substitutes it with another life. That is when we will all be judged. The UFI event is Judgement night, where we are judging the devil and his team of demons. We are not judging people that night, but we are banning the devil from our lives.

You have to get a good memory before you have a go at yourself, the constitution was promoted by MDC.
The old one was an improvement noted by the organizer who said according tom Zimbabwe situation, that he would never forgive tsvangerai for.
The only gain from the constition was the media hence their support because they felt they can lie without getting sued or going to jail which is of course is not true because other laws cover their offences anyway, its just that they were too dim to realize it – libel etc.
International comment fro m medias that it didn’t conform with the UN charter- MDC are so clever, its the only one in the world like that.

This appears very suspicious, why “Judgement Night and not Judgement Day when all people can see what’s happening. I believe these guys intend bringing wrong people for trial like street vendor instead of Ignatious Chombo who stole land. In darkness a lot happens. Why has this Government of murderers become interested anywhere?

Zimbabwe is declining into a pit of absolute pathetic fools who have no idea what to do next. Everyday brings some outlandish bright spark of an idea that fizzles into the oblivion but in the heat if the moment cause so much confusion and unnecessary rubbish. You would think this idiots were on some hallucinogen but as I have said before the HIV virus has infected most of the people in power. HIV of the brain behaves like syphilis and makes one have grandiose ideas. We need closure and that means putting ZANU PF to rest for good

This preacher preaches what is not in the bible. All these ZANU’s should remember that it is easier for a camel to get through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to go to heaven. Anybody who says that great wealth is a sign of a blessing from god is not preaching Christianity. Jesus was on the side of the poor and the dispossessed.

The Church is a spiritual entity. The church is Jesus Christ Himself, He is the Head, the Cornerstone and the Foundation. We make up the body; the living stones. We are guilty of bring the Church down from the heavenly/spiritual and making it worldly. Last week when I read about this judgment night Makandiwa’s name was mentioned 8 or 9 times there was no mention of Christ. And so whose church is this? And we were also told that he was going to come against all the curses like poverty and corruption etc. How can this be without repentance first? Without a deep Spirit given repentance Zimbabwe is going no where. Its tragic how first we leave Christ out of it ad then repentance. The bible tells us that repentance is unto life. The Zimbabwean church needs to look to Christ and NOT to any man. I find the whole thing disturbing!

    • comment-avatar

You are right. Our true riches are the unsearcheable riches of Christ Himself. the prosperity gospel is a false gospel and we should flee from it.

Jesus, according to the Gospels, said that his disciples should own no possessions and should rely on charity for food.

The way things are headed, Zimbabwe is becoming the most Christian nation on Earth.

      • comment-avatar

That’s because our worldly Christianity and the false prosperity gospel have turned out to be most lucrative for many wolves in sheep’s clothing. They will be severely judged. And so many church leaders just look upon it as a business which has gone far away from the true church. Of course disciples are allowed to own possessions and buy their own food. it is not money that is the root of all evil but the love of money that is evil. Even the apostle Paul had a tent making business to help support himself so he didn’t put too much on the church o support him. It is also not wrong for a church to support a true shepherd but not to the tune of helicopters, designer clothes, millions in the bank and 5 star life style. Church, we need to repent and weep before a holy God.

Don’t pick and choose scripture. Read the entirety of the gospels, and you’ll find your reference was to those who were first sent only to the Jews.

Christians are not told to be poor, but we are to help those who are helpless. James 2, 1 John 3:16-16, among many other references.

I totally agree with you John Thomas. It seems all these “preachers” talk about is getting wealth and riches!!!

This article shows the calibre of naive and misguided politicians who are taking us for granted without proper facts.I am sure the easily brainwashed youths are beginning to realise that these fake prophets are nothing but crooks with limited future. You will be surprised when the numbers are so small that he won’t even pay for the organising costs.
Check your friend Prophet who tried to open a school which failed due to lack of participants after the people realised what fees he wanted to charge per child. Some of those naive and shortsighted teachers who left their jobs with the government in order to take new promised posts with his school are now not employed due to their stupidity and greediness. This minister has a lot to learn about the current situation within the country.
The minister is right in comparing it with World Cup which always leaves the host country broke. This is what will happen after this ill-thought propaganda event which has fake principles. Our Almighty God will not allow fake individuals to make funny of his Holy Name.
I advise the poor and not well informed youths not to be used by these fake prophets who could not make it in life by doing one day’s honest hard work.Dream on you religious failures but your exposure of evil deeds has now started.

Mixed race, you hit the nail right on the head. And Mzembi does not understand anything about the terrible price the lord Jesus paid to redeem us wretched sinners. All he sees is money. It actually causes me to weep.

Mixed Race has it right. Phony bunch.

And nowhere in scripture does “The Church” get involved in politics, or anything else… in fact, the church, the kingdom of God, is nothing but saved people. It is not a “thing”, but merely those who make up the family of God, by their faithful obedience in righteousness to walk in the Way of Jesus. Christ is the head, but there is no organization.

It is pleasing to here that this event is going ahead because Zanu PF is communicating well and not “speaking in tongues, no one could understand us,” as happened last year as Minister Walter Mzembi so aptly puts it.

As someone who is really worried about Zimbabwe’s economic melt-down; can I ask the Minister why Zanu PF is still talking in tongues on this matter critical matter?

Judgement Night. Who is so sinless to judge others under the sun. Things done under cover of night are dirty and evil. This propaganda is against other religions. Why should government promote one religion amongst the many including religions based on our tradition. The constitution provides for freedom of worship and this so called “Judgement Night” seems to rubbish other religions. Mzembi has a right to belong to the dubious Makandiwa religion and must not impose this belief on those who don’t believe in it. Mzembi will not pass a corruption test if he were put to it. Did he not get palm greasing from the Indians to buy cheap quality vehicles from them? Mzembi and his makandiwa or madhunduru are birds of the same feather. This type of gathering will bring us diseases like HIV and Ebola at a time government is struggling to fund health programs. By the way Mzembi is an outgoing minister looking for a position as a religious minister in Makandiwa church. If he passes the judgement night, even the devil himself will pass it.

With Makandiwa’s gathering, tourism revenue is high. Now some of you are criticizing Makandiwa’s religion on a political platform. I suggest we vent our frustration with the establishment elsewhere good people. Here is a minister wishing any gathering about anything, as long as it involves cash flow, is good for the country. Chete.

    New Jerusalem Ministries
    P.O. Box 275 Takoradi
    Western Region
Ghana3 April 2014Your Esteemed Excellency, President Robert Gabriel MugabeRE: False Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa and the danger posed by UFIC in ZimbabweWe are honoured to be communicating with you, Mr President, a gallant father of Africa and distingiushed Statesman. As it might have already been brought to your attention, by our local cleric brothers in Harare, we are writing to you Mr President, imploring you to use your executive authority to arrest Emmanuel Makandiwa and set bulldozers on his dubious United Family International Church (UFIC), for the following reasons:
    (a) Makandiwa uses black magic and voodoo, to perform lying miracles, and has received evil charms from a famous fetish priest here in Ghana. The dark powers used by this man, are so much strong that his followers have had their eyes blinded, and their spirits trapped with the underworld.

We are now living in the end times, and as foretold by scripture deception of the masses will take centre stage, while the sons and daugthers of perdition lay the ground for the Anti-Christ. Based on this expose, it is only appropriate to arrest the false prophet and his top officials, and have them behind bars until they confess to their evil deeds, with Makandiwa as the ring leader.

    (b) Zimbabwe is a great nation and, is also the land of The Holy Spirit, that is why God is not going to allow this deception and spiritual destruction of his children to go on. Actually your beloved nation, Mr President, has been chosen by God to fulfill The Lord’s end time move and revival worldwide, through a humble servant from Zimbabwe who is already stationed abroad, and has been charged to finish the assignment first given to the late Reverend Morgan Sengwayo of The Apostolic Faith Mission in Southern Africa, in 1955. It is also this Zimbabwean minister whom, we have been consulting after receiving similar visions and prophesies that have also been shown him. To this end, we are happy to give the Zimbabwean nation, a few clues about this great minister of God, who is going to be used mightily to dislodge false prophets and the synagogue of satan across the globe.

Since we shall be hearing more about him, as The Lord’s time for his calling draws closer, we can reveal that he was born and groomed in Reverend Sengwayo’s church, whom we understand you offered a cabinet post as minister of religion at Independence, but he could not take up the office. The Zimbabwean minister, was born in Rusape and comes from Kadoma.

    (c) Makandiwa has failed to approach you, with the tragic propeshy affecting the First Family, which is about to come to pass. The prophesy, Your Excellency, has already been communicated to your office, and it has to do with the passing away of the mother of the nation. We do not know exactly, what will cause this sad event, and we are using this platform to remind her to contact, an Elder who works close to the Zimbabwean minister, and also a senior pastor for our European branch called Pastor Thomas Ackah-Quarm on the following number: 0049-177 3095096 so she can be told important information, about the prophesy.

    (d) Shall we draw your attention to the few Bible verses below:

For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.

    (Luke 8:17)

Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

    (Matthew 10:26)

Your Excellency, as the word of God is saying in self-explanatory language above, there is nothing secret that will not be made manifest. People who are into the occult and sorcery, might believe the falsehood, that they are invincible, but our God is ever faithful as His power, The Holy Ghost crashes and exposes evil at the end. Makandiwa knows the truth in his heart, and he actually needs deliverance.

We kindly request that you act on this matter, with speed before the masses are consumed by this dangerous church. They have made contact with spirits of the dead, and have coffins in their church, which give them what appears to be power, yet it is spiritual death for the congregation. The so-called “Judgement Night”, which Makandiwa is advertising is surely his last. Judgement from The Lord, is upon him and we shall soon forget about him. May we also warn those that continue, to be lead by false teachers, that some of these so called “Men of God” are not genuine, and are actually “Men of men” with a mission and duty to do satan’s work with distinction.

May The God of Reverend Sengwayo and His End Time minister, bless Zimbabwe.

We look forward to meeting you,

    Yours Sincerely,
    Pastor Lawrence Ajoba
    Head of Ghanaian Pastors Delegation
