Mugabe dismisses MDC-T on Heroes Day as rigging evidence mounts

via Mugabe dismisses MDC-T on Heroes Day as rigging evidence mounts | SW Radio Africa by Tererai Karimakwenda on Monday, August 12, 2013

During Heroes’ Day celebrations on Monday Robert Mugabe dismissed the MDC-T allegations of vote rigging. But more damning evidence has emerged showing that a controversial Israeli firm was paid to manipulate the voters roll to favour him in the July 31st elections.

“Those who lost elections may commit suicide if they so wish. Even if they die, dogs will not eat their flesh,” the 89-year old Mugabe told the crowd gathered for the annual celebrations at Heroes Acre, which this year the MDC-T boycotted in protest.

Despite his denials, bank records detailing payments received by Nikuv International Projects were revealed in an MDC-T dossier, submitted with their legal papers on Friday at the Constitutional Court (ConCourt).

The dossier shows that at least 50 payments were received by Nikuv between February 4 and July 30 this year, averaging about $200,000 each. The total paid to Nikuv came to about $10,578,335.

On their own website, Nikuv acknowledge that they deal with elections in several African countries, including Nigeria, Zambia, Botswana and Zimbabwe. But MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai alleges that Nikuv worked with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) to rig the voters roll in Mugabe’s favour.

The MDC-T spokesman Douglas Mwonzora, told SW Radio Africa Monday that they had secured the bank details from their intelligence unit, which he said has contacts “within the system” who are tired of the Mugabe regime.

Regarding Heroes Day comments by Mugabe, Mwonzora said: “That is typical of a deranged old man who always says those kinds of things. We would not go to be addressed by the same person we are accusing of stealing the election.”

Mwonzora confirmed that the MDC-T will not be a part of Mugabe’s cabinet, but would allow those who won to participate in parliament and local government, as they are “platforms where the party can further its agenda”.

The MDC-T are challenging Mugabe’s election victory on 15 grounds and seek to have the elections declared null and void under section 93 of the Constitution. They also want a fresh election within 60 days.

ZEC chairperson Rita Makarau and chief elections officer Lovemore Sekeramayi are named as respondents along with Mugabe. But history has shown the judiciary system in Zimbabwe to be highly compromised, being stacked with judges appointed by Mugabe who have ruled in his favour on most occasions.

The ConCourt has up to two weeks to rule on this crucial matter. Until this is resolved Mugabe cannot legally be sworn into office.

The Bank Transactions evidence is so glaring that the judges who make judgement in favour of Mugabe are exposing themselves internationally. Let all progressive forces across the world target the embassies of countries that are coming for UNWTO General Asembly. They must be furnished with the evidence that has been presented before the courts by the MDC-T

You are right. Kaharahwa kacho kakachenjeresa, but I don’t think banks, especially international banks can be bribed. But you never know. But if in 2008 SADC rejected the results after evidence was provided, the same can hapen this time. A precedence has already been set.

True, SADC and AU have brilliant guidelines on the conduct of elections by member states, but do not have punitive measures for violations of the guidelines. It is just another case where, they will endorse the outcome of the Zim election despite a number of glaring irregularities that violate the laid down guidelines. This is because most of the countries in the AU also have fraudulent elections from time to time. This shows mother Africa is very far away from true democracy.

As much as it is clear that RG and ZANU stole this election and unashamedly so,the reality is that the bank records prove nothing as RG and ZANU do not deny employing this company to ‘assist’ with the voters role. The real proof would be for this company NICUV to be compelled by Israel to spill the beans and anyone who knows that politics is much dirtier than what has been seen played by ZANU as there are other poeple with bigger wallets than ZANU and only need to pay more and NICUV will be singing.Clearly the main undoing for RG and ZANU is from what looks a minor issue to those with shallow brains like Obert Mpofu who dismisses the allegations related to Uranium in the usual ZANU style-watch the space as this Uranium story is potentially a game changer-ZANU and RG would dare keep messing about with Uranium and Iran and they will be swept to where they belong-and very quickly too

MaJudge aGadaffi akazotizira ku UK when the evil man who had appointed them came to nought….Even Idi had judges. We wait to see their judgement…apparently their verdict would one day condemn them in the history of Zimbabwe as the stooges who propped the evil mafia regime of Mugabe, despite obvious overwhelming evidence.

A simple statistical analysis of the election results would surely indicate a high degree of manipulation and chicanery.

.Mugabe gets a 400% increase in votes from 2008 in some constituents
-High turn out at certain polling stations inconsistent with other polling stations around them.
-High turnout and Zanu winning “resoundly” at polling stations in the outskates of urban centres.
-High turnout and Zanu winning “resoundly” at polling stations near army barracks.
-High voter turn out only in constituents which were won by ZANU
-Modern trends anywhere in the world the variance between the winner and the loser is not more 10%. The last politicians who used to win by 75% were Saddam and Mubarak. A recent similar closely fought election like that of Zimbabwe was that of Venezuala and the margins were small. Zanu simply did an overkill in their rigging thereby exposing them.
-How can we have such a high voter assistance in a country which has the highest literacy rate in Afrika, later on higher than UK.
-Why was the voter assistance rate skewed in Mashonaland and rural set up.
-How can a young population of 13 million have more than 50% registered voters.

Surely Africa will always remain a dark continent at this rate, specially with some of these compromised judges.

This is the reason Zimbabwe will not attract investment both from outsiders and the Zimbabweans themselves. We will never trust these crooks with our wealth. Never! They stole our pensions while printing and exchanging US$ to externalise our wealth. Trust them at your own peril, especially when they sweet talk after the inauguration of the Life President.

PS. the courts must please establish Why and who paid Nukiv
Why was UNDP a UN arm refused access to participate in the election process. Ivai maJudge evanhu, Mugabe achakusiyayi manje manje and you still have a long life to live.
    .

You can say that again. Issue of destroyed pensions is very painful. A 20years working pension for some of us going down the drain. An attempt claim it from the Pension fund, they will calculate it using infationary figures prevailing in 2008, and you will get peanuts.

Mugabe is not obliged to appoint MDC members to the cabinet, so this BS Mwonzora. Initial you said you were not going to attend parliament, now this.. Whom are your kidding. You guys didn’t have a message. Your message was all about Mugabe stealing elections, nothing more, nothing less. You have Komichi in remand prison because of your 5th grader strategy.

Iwe Qiniso, let me put it to you this way: The first statement made was when some members of the executive met – there was need to have an urgent meeting; then the decision that MPs will go to Parliament, Councillors to Council etc, was after the full National Executive had met, followed by a meeting of the National Council. Saka leadership ine flexibility ndizvo. There is no harm making a statement in an emergency, subject to approval by National Council when it eventualy meets.

Evidence hausi kuiona here, kana usiri kuiona hameno zvako. More evidence is coming in day by day, and the time the trial kicks off, Mugabe achashaya pekunyarira.

@ Kaitano, Thats flip-flopping at its best. Tsvangison is not a man of his word. He is a tin-pot dictator…2005 again.

“The first statement made was when some members of the executive met – there was need to have an urgent meeting; then the decision that MPs will go to Parliament, Councillors to Council etc, was after the full National Executive had met, followed by a meeting of the National Council. Thats not flexibility Kaitano. Thats lack of decisive leadership and it was Tsvangison himself who made that statement.

There is absolutely no evidence all…If this Zionist company was paid huge $$ by Zanu Pf, did it force people to vote Zanu Pf? Did it threaten anyone? Was anyone forced to vote zanu pf?

Qiniso, I am happy you agree that the Israel Company was paid huge $ to fix the voters’ roll, so people were not able to vote. What makes the situation worse for Mugabe is that Makarau denied the company was involved, only to turn out that it was indeed. If the 2008 results were set aside after evidence was produced, the same could happen this time round. Morgan MUST take the evidence requested by Zuma to Zuma, the AU and the UN.

Provide the electronic voter’s roll, then we will show on who was affected, by who and when. Provide the ballot paper used and forensic test will show you how the paper was designed to favour ZPF candidates throughout the country.

What war JV? People spoke. People would have done the in 2008 but Tsvangison bailed out. People were ready to vote Bob out but MDC played the same boycott song. Give me one country which really has free and fair elections and I will give you five bob 🙂

Lets take Matabeleland as an example. Thousands of people were slaughtered by the Gugurandi…whatever you call it but people still voted against Zanu Pf…Now no one was threatening them and they voted zanu pf. Why…coz zanu pf had a message and they like it. MDC had no message apart from Mugabe is old…Mugabe will steal elections…if you vote me, my friends will come and invest and you will get jobs. That’s not a message. You’re holding people at ransom and people don’t like that, hence the results.

I don’t see any evidence here. Nikuv are experts in preparation of voters rolls (amongst other areas of expertise) and they tender competitively to under-take this kind of work. How does one expect them to work without payments? Is there any employed person on this blog who works for no pay? This is ridiculous.

The problem the Concourt judges have is that they have to make a fair ruling on this issue because even though they do look advanced in age and certainly the other people who appear to have had a hand in the rigging in the form of Makarau and Kazembe will be around long after Mugabe is departed, the people’s voice will eventually be heard and they(the judges) and these judges and ZEC should not blame anyone when they find themselves in choppy waters. That day is near when the people will resist suppression through forced rule where ZANU wants to remain in power regardless of their failure to deliver in the past 30 years
