Mutambara tipped to get ministerial post from Mugabe

via Mutambara attends Heroes function, tipped to get ministerial post from Mugabe – My Zimbabwe News

Outgoing Deputy Prime Minister and deposed MDC leader Professor Arthur Mutambara on Monday made his first public appearance in months after hibernating from the political radar at a national event boycotted by the Morgan Tsvangirai led MDC-T party and western diplomats.

Mutambara went into political oblivion in the run-up to last month’s harmonised elections and uncharacteristically remained silent throughout the election period.

However, the former leader of the breakaway faction of the MDC party resurfaced at the national shrine on Monday during a rally held to mark Heroes Day and which was addressed by President-elect and Zanu PF leader Robert Mugabe.

Mutambara, who was seated next to Mugabe at the Heroes Acre, could be seen smiling while following proceedings that lasted almost one hour.

On Monday, Zanu PF insiders told Radio VOP that the robotics professor might be given a ministerial position in the Zanu PF-led government as a reward for being loyal to Mugabe during the tenure of the shaky coalition government during which Mutambara sided with the octogenarian leader in times of disagreements with Tsvangirai.

Mutambara said people must rise above political differences when it comes to observing and commemorating national events.

In an interview soon after laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Professor Mutambara said national events like the Heroes Day are what defines a people and their values and it is important for every Zimbabwean to rise above political differences.

“When gallant sons and daughters of the soil took up arms to redeem Zimbabwe from the clutches of oppression, they had one priority, driven by a shared goal, to liberate every Zimbabwean from colonial bondage. It is therefore proper for everyone to show some respect for the departed and living heroes and heroines, regardless of one’s political affiliation,” said Professor Mutambara

The MDC said they would not take part in a Zanu PF function, especially soon after a stolen election.

Arthur Mutambara could be the most discerning politician who figured out that Mugabe will prevail against liberal forces. I doubt if this is all by accident; the man is intelligent remember.

Zanu has failed Zimbabwe you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to know that, which is maybe why Mutambara and Jonathan cant seem to figure that out. Mugabe is very old now and he is behaving as he naturally should, that is losing the ability to act quickly or actively manage anything serious, he has no full idea or control of what now happens even in his own house let alone in Harare or worse the whole country. He admitted that he doesn’t know what his eldest son is up to in life. Instead of figuring a genius way to replace Mugabe, Mutambara is instead cowardly cowing to a very old man whose interlect had diminished to levels where a country he used to lead prosperously now has citizens dying in masses from disease, some caused by poor management of human waste.

Josh, stupid people like you have been peddling lies about President Mugabe’s inability to rule due to old age since 1999. If you must know, President Mugabe has outfoxed, outmaneouvered all western imperialists put together and left MDC ignoramuses bewildered and not knowing what hit them. Surely this must take someone of superior intellect, far superior than that of most world leaders put together. President Mugabe right now has all imperialists going back to the drawing boards, trying to figure out how they were dribbled. What has worked in all countries the world over has failled in Zimbabwe – all because of President Mugabe. You will miss him one day. We pray to God that He gives our President more years of active life, for it is only President Mugabe who can beat the imperialists at their own game.

Mugabe has never outmanouvoured westerncountries, a lie. They are there. what has he done that they have CRIED what has he done that has affected their countries, economically. NOTHING. Just rhetoruic statements about the west which we are tired of, which you always follow and believe in coz you cant think on your own,. If today Mugabe says Mutambara, Tony Blair, Botha, Obama are good people; you say trhe same. If tomorow he changes his mind you say the same. Problem with youn ZANOIDS is you dont have time to think on your own, you wait Mugabe to think for you. THATS where you differ from Democratic parties which you, after Mugabe had said it, are Western origin.Use your brain please, Stop using Mugabe’s brain. Weigh things Good or bad and dont wait for someone to do it for you: Lazy Thinkerr

And how many will show up for this so-called sit-in? Life will go on as usual, because if Zimbabweans really gave a damn, our country would not be classified as peaceful. If you want to rot in remand prison because the riot police rounded up the 6 of you, be my guest. I’m making contacts with the forex dealers along 5th Street, so that when the Zimdollar does return, I can “invest” in some financial security.

And what do you know about the liberation struggle? Through history books in Secondary school? Or Boarder Gezi training brigades?? Too shallow – grow intellectually and think outside the box.
