A TOP Zanu PF official has urged warring party members to bury their differences emanating from the district co-ordinating committee elections and work in unison.

Zanu PF Makoni DCC chairperson Albert Nyakuedzwa told NewsDay that the party should focus on mobilising votes for President Emmerson Mnangagwa in the 2023 elections and forget about the fiercely contested internal polls.

Nyakuedzwa contested for the DCC top post against Makoni South MP Misheck Mataranyika and former Zanu PF vice-provincial chairman Joseph Mujati.

“We had our DCC elections which were just an internal process we did as a party,” Nyakuedzwa said.

“We have since gone past election mode and we are now in a new era. Here in Makoni district, we are united and working together as a party. We need unity if we are going to fulfil the vision of President Mnangagwa.”

He said the ruling party should gear up for the restructuring exercise the party is undertaking to “solidify the base”.

“As a party, we are now geared for the 2023 elections. The restructuring exercise is going on well and we are happy with the progress,” he said.
