“Tobacco farmers both in the communal areas, A1 and A2 farms are small producers who rely on trees for curing their crop.”

MAZOWE — Nyaradzo Group, a major stakeholder in tree planting, says it will work with smallholder tobacco farmers to stem the tide of deforestation caused by the wanton destruction of trees for tobacco curing.
Group finance director, Edith Hatendi, told The Financial Gazette that Nyaradzo and its partners, the Friends of the Environment (FOTE), would like to use their extensive network, which includes 26 nurseries around the country, to assist the farmers in an afforestation and reforestation drive. – Farai Mabeza

Every tobacco farmer has a moral obligation to support this initiative lest we become a desert.
