Zanu PF Legislator In Trouble Over Debt

By Professor Matodzi

Harare – Temba Mliswa, the controversial empowerment lobbyist and Zanu PF Member of Parliament-elect for Hurungwe West constituency risks losing his valuable property after a local financial institution petitioned the High Court seeking to attach his property over a $48 000 debt.

TN Bank through its lawyer, Meli Matshiya of Mtetwa and Nyambirai Legal Practitioners recently asked the High Court to issue a writ of execution authoring the bank to attach and take into execution the movable goods belonging to Cubs Den Consolidated, a company which is owned by the former fitness trainer.

TN Bank, which recently branded to Steward Bank after it was acquired by leading telecoms provider, Econet charged that Mliswa failed to repay a loan, which his firm had borrowed from the commercial bank in October 2010.

The petitioning of the High Court came after TN Bank secured a ruling in its favour from Justice Ben Hlatshwayo, who in October 2012 ordered Cubs Den Consolidated to pay the commercial bank $48 783.

Mliswa’s company was also ordered to pay interest on the debt.

Come on, be fair, Zimbabwes’ culture has, over the past 20 years, been that of “I want it, I’ll take it, and I don’t have to pay for it. I.e. commercial farm take-overs.

I do not see the fuss about this story. This to me is like an everyday occurence that companies owe banks and there are legal avenues that can be taken. Is this story published because this debt involves a Zanu PF individual? Do not see the logic.

You don’t see logic because ytou are so much blinded by this Zanu PF black cloth that covers your face. Every Zanu PF chap thinks that he/She can just get wantever he or wants at any time free of charge. This is a business entity with a business mind not a Zanu Pf meandering mind. Wake up man

You have obviously missed my point and became judgemental. You have then gone on to talk about “a business entity” which then goes back to my original point. Generally you sound confused. You seem like you have two brains. One is lost and the other one is looking for the lost one. That basically leaves you with just an empty skull.

Are you saying the story of an MDC candidate whose death threats were reported in the Daily News coz he’s MDC? A story is a story. News is news. You like it, read. You don’t, go to the next one.

This guy has always been a failure from lond time ago. He messed up the Rugby sport in Zimbabwe and now is messing up with banks again. This is the same chap who grabbed and ran away with the video belonging to Copac during the constituttion making process, typical of an idiot this one.
