The recently launched pro-Emmerson Mnangagwa Zimbabwe Star Party (Movement) was raided by suspected Zimbabwe state security agents in Johannesburg yesterday.
Six heavily built intruders disrupted an executive meeting and confiscated laptops, documents and minutes. Identification particulars of 15 ZSP executive members in attendance were taken note of.
The intruders warned the gathering that ‘You haven’t started boys’ (Hamusati matanga vapfana).
“The invasion was unexpected, swift and fearsome. We did not suspect that we could be under surveillance since our activities were not a threat to any state or individual,” Prince Chitambo, ZSP secretary for information told The Zimbabwean in a telephone interview.
Chitambo suspected that besides the state security agents, the attack might have come from the Mujuru faction or from Mnangagwa himself, since the Movement was formed without him being consulted.
ZSP ruled out possibilities that the intruders could South Africans since they spoke English with a Zimbabwean accent. A report was made to the local police who have started investigations.
Chitambo said nobody should be scared of ZSP as they were a Movement launched to help create a peaceful country with the capacity to protect gains from independence.
“We are just convinced that the person with the right curriculum vitae and capacity to lead the future Zimbabwe is Mnangagwa. If the attack is a work of the (Mujuru) faction, it would be unfortunate since we are open to everyone,” he said.
ZSP was launched recently by Richard Gwarazimba, an accommodations consultant, and other Zimbabweans in South Africa. Among their states objectives is to help Mnangagwa succeed President Robert Mugabe when time comes.
Efforts to seek comment from the South Africa Police and Mnangagwa were fruitless.

This is nothing but a ruse to try and create sympathy for the Mnangagwa faction. And what a glorious opportunity for the so-called pro Mnangagwa party to get publicity! We are not idiots!

This ZPS group is made up of a bunch of opportunistic losers. They are like rats waiting under the table waiting to pick any crumps of food dropped by people eating on the table. ZPS my foot. They must be deported back to Zimbabwe because they are a bunch of lunatics.
People should vote and decide for their leader. It is their belief that he can be their leader in ZPF. He is not good to lead the nation at all.Furthermore, he is not the best candidate for Zim precidency.
How does the outfit, exactly intend to help Mnangagwa? Is he politically so impotent that he will fail to articulate his intentions to the electorate by himself? We have become a country of supporters indeed. And no movers or shakers who could transform the country.
Why not go back to Zimbabwe and campaign for your Mnangagwa? Why do it in South Africa?
