Source: Zimbabwe marks 37 years of independence amid economic crisis – The Washington Post
Mugabe has been in power since the end of British colonial rule.
This once-prosperous country now faces a cash crisis and high unemployment. A bill presented to parliament last week would have banks accept livestock as collateral for loans. And an education official has said livestock can be accepted as school fees.
World leaders including Russian President Vladimir Putin sent congratulatory messages to mark the independence anniversary.

A goat, a hen or a donkey is not collateral – it’s a commodity – not a joke but has to be the best story to emerge in the modern day world but then i forgot we are living in the iron age – This is drastic comedy but sadly the fact the nation has not got a pot to piss in – Even the pot has been stolen – careful now – your goats could become goat bonds –
Beware, soon the girl child is to be betrothed and the boy child enslaved. Anyway, over these 37 years we have learnt that (1) without a vision you can only move backwards (2) public speakers do not make good leaders (3) literacy is not education – to be useful all must go through the grinding mill, (4) elections without choice are not democracy (5) one man rule breeds all men poverty (6) when dogs lead, even lions live like frogs (7) once beaten, people are always shy.
OURS IS A DUTY TO CHANGE ALL THIS.
These idiots should be congratulated for turning Zimbabwe into the laughing stock of the world. Goats as collateral? Really? Loin cloths next. Oh no, hang on, all the wildlife is being destroyed systematically. So, leopard skin is out of the question.
