via Zimbabweans protest at looting British GP – The Zimbabwean 22 October 2015
Zimbabwean exiles in the UK are to stage a demonstration next Tuesday outside a clinic in Nottingham run by a doctor who is attempting to seize a farm in Zimbabwe.
Dr Sylvester Nyatsuro, a British citizen, claims that the Mugabe regime has told him he can have the farm although he has been resident in England for more than 10 years.
He and his wife Veronica, apparently the clinic’s practice manager, are trying to kick out the owner Philip Rankin, who bought the farm after independence with the approval of the Mugabe authorities. He is now besieged in his home unable to care for his tobacco crop worth up to £240,000.
The demonstration is organized by the Zimbabwe Vigil which has been protesting outside the Zimbabwe Embassy in London every Saturday since October 2002 in support of human rights in Zimbabwe.
Vigil Co-ordinator Fungayi Mabhunu said: ‘We want to show our disgust at the hypocritical behavior of someone who has prospered in this country but wants to benefit from the illegitimate Mugabe regime. The Nyatsuros pretend that this is all legal but it just stinks of nepotism. Mrs Nyatsuro has admitted she is related to Mugabe’s wife Grace. The owner is a white man born in Zimbabwe and has no other home. Perhaps he should take over the Nyatsuros’ properties here in exchange.’
The Vigil has written to the local NHS Commissioning Group drawing attention to the matter with copies to the General Medical Council and the Department of Health as well as the Home Office and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. @Mugarbage, I think this is over the top response. We need to be careful that in our disagreement with the racist Mugabe we could end up being worse than him.
Let’s stay focused at the battle at hand and not be distracted.
This issue has nothing to do with race and if you look carefully at the people leading this protest you will notice that three of them are black and one of them is white.
This protest is on a Tuesday and a lot of people will take time off work to go to this protest and for most of these people race will not be on their agenda – its the injustice being inflicted on farmer Rankin.
You will note that a lot of people have moved from this black/white, tribal etc divides but politicians like Mugabe will try to use them as much they can and don’t fall for the bait.
The issue you raise about Africans migrating to Europe – that’s a much more complex issue that cannot be effectively addressed here and as Zimbabweans we have enough problems of our own to be concerned about that. Having said that this migration is replicated across the world – south Americans to north America, Asians to Australia – and therefore not necessarily confined to Africa – hence it’s a much bigger issue. I digress.

Let us not polarise around race. That is what mugabe has used to stay in power so that he can go to first world hospitals. Nyatsuro, as an indigenous Zimbabwean, has every justification is kicking Rankin of his (Nyatsuro’s) land. This claim is immeasurably strengthened if his conjugal partner is related to DAGM MONA (Doctor Amai Grace Mugabe Mother of the Nation, respect). Nyatsuro’s alleged citizenship is a technicality of no import, like the Rudd concession. Rankin is clearly of setter pedigree and, despite the technicalities of his citizenship, must take second place to Nyatsuro as the land reform program (thanks to HE) has established the primacy of the indigenous over the exotic. This is not about race at all, as HE has said, whites must not own land in Zimbabwe. That is not racist, as Little Englanders or right thinking people might erroneously think, it is indigenous

In referring to the Rudd Concession I was thinking of fraudulently created colonial legalities very similar to the nominal legalities created by HERGM’s regime, for example the unilateral provision that Britain should pay for land expropriated by the sovereign Zimbabwe state. It is a new perspective for me to be told that it also has a place in the ideological ethnic debate.

I believe Mr Rankin will be very happy to accept Zambukos logic. If these loyal indigenous Zimbabweans want to reclaim the land that is rightfully theirs then he can be given the properties and business in the UK that the Dr. will no longer need and Rankin can rightfully claim as his ancestors were indigenous Mabritish. I’m sure after years of the normal harassment a white Zimbabwean farmer has to endure this would be an ideal retirement plan for him. Pamberi ne racism!
