Hundreds of people gathered in Marikana, North West yesterday for the launch of Julius Malema’s EFF party.
People wearing red berets and T-shirts braved scorching heat as they waited for Malema to arrive.
The crowd was kept entertained by artistes singing and dancing.
Among the songs were “if you touch Malema you will see trouble”, referring to President Jacob Zuma.
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) received its registration certificate from the Independent Electoral Commission on Monday last week.
On Saturday, eight cattle were slaughtered ahead of a ceremony at the hill at the Nkaneng informal settlement where police shot dead 34 people, many of them striking miners in August last year.
According to its constitution, the EFF is a radical, left-wing, anti-capitalist, and anti-imperialist movement.
The party claims it provides clear and cogent alternatives to post-colonial economic systems, which in many countries had kept the oppressed under colonial domination.
The party advocates the expropriation of South Africa’s land without compensation, and the nationalisation of mines, banks, and other strategic sectors of the economy.
Malema told the launch that the land of South Africa belongs to the landless.
“This is your land. You (the landless) do not have to pay for the land. It has been already paid by the sweat of your fathers,” he said at the launch of his political party.
He said white South Africans were still refusing to hand over the land they inherited through theft.

He is trying to justify to his sponsors that they should keep pouring money into his pocket so he can open another “CHARITY”, this time not using his son’e name, but maybe his daughter, or his distant cousin. Look at Zimbabwe what did the country benefit. Its now almost 15 years since we took land and we are still languishing and there is no hope in the distant future. Imagine the fate of Zimbabwe if we had not discovered diamonds. My friend what’s important is that one gets food on the table, kids go to school, get treated in hospitals with doctors, we have electricity, water, etc…the rest is NONSENSE!!!

When Mandela was released from prison, several parties mushroomed and many people opposed Mandela and his followers. Every reasonable person on earth understood Mandela was right.
Millions died as people resisted Mandela’s movement which swept sound Africa into democracy. But he stood firm and eventually triumphed the same applies to Malema. He may sound youthful and stupid, some will fight against him. It’s normal. After all that’s democracy in its purest form, courtesy of Mandela’s sacrifices. What we as Africans need is brains or wisdom. We don’t have to copy or follow blindly the western course of civilisation. We have seen and learnt about communism and capitalism or the so-called free market economy. You Can Talk of Keysean Economics or ‘Say’ Economics – the list is endless. Let us blend all these variants of ideas and experiences to come up with our own brand of development system one that will see all ram shackles of Soweto get replaced by standard and descent accommodation for masses of people; lets practice a system that will create jobs for 99% of the population giving them living wages. Let’s craft a system that will see our daughters marry in their virgin state and enjoy life to the full as the bible teaches; let’s create a system that will make our people truly happy people; a system that punishes thievery and corruption; a system that promotes sharing of resources equitably. Inexhaustible! I believe this is very possibly. All we need to do is to rally behind true visionary leaders like Malema. All Malema needs to do is put in place a council of level headed people who will form a think tank on behalf of the people. Land must get back to the people and so should mines and other resources. But nationalisation may or may not be the solution. Suppose mines are nationalised and the former owners maintains a stake in the mines, while the generality of the POVO benefits, where is the problem?
Given proper thinking we can come up with a way to do it. Suppose mine owners were paying a cool royalty that went towards replacing all the squalors of Soweto with decent housing, would this not be good. Suppose half the land is shared among the landless and the other half continues to produce cheap food for the people would this not be good enough. Suppose all other resources were channelled towards poverty alleviation by way of, say, giving out living allowance to all those in need, would this not help? Look at the structure of mine bosses’ salaries and you will see where the problem lies. Look at how much wealth money from mines and farms has been created; ask who benefited, and you will see where the problem lies. Suppose you make multinational companies cede 10 of shares to their workers would this not make a difference? This is Mugabe style but let’s not forget that it’s also the same style that has been implemented by one successful American airlines company.
Whites and all capitalists laugh at Mugabe’s development model where as it was one of the best i.e. taking land and giving it to the landless. But his problem, unlike the Chinese who chop off corrupt minister’s heads, he runs his government like a mafia with rank and file filled by rabid and corrupt members. So, how much can such a person achieve – just fakoffff? If someone elsewhere in Africa were to implement the same Mugabe philosophy, believe you me, South Korea may not come close in terms of success. So let’s give Malema a chance. His EFF does not hate whites but supports them for their success so long they appreciate stolen land should be returned to rightful owners and national resources have to be shared equitably. People, especially the capitalist, laughed at the Chinese in the early sixties professing that their socialism was doomed to fail. But the Chinese put up a modified socialist development model unparalleled anywhere on earth and today the same capitalists in Europe America are going begging for money from the mega rich Chinese so they can survive. Let’s work up Africans; we are too rich to be poor. Malema is a star, he deserves support. Malema – simply bring wise people into your council to help you market and implement the EFF philosophy, which should be allowed to evolve. This way you will free South Africa and the whoa of Africa from all forms of ills.

Land is a very sensitive issue. Mugabes wrong was not to take the land. No, that was his greatest achievement ever to date. The process of distributing that land acquired is the problem. You can’t just give a person who virtually knows nothing about farming a productive farm and say you are now in charge. That is pure madness. South Africa is different from Zimbabwe inthe sense that, South *frican whites Love that country and they call it Home. The zimbabwean white mostly have British citizeship and are in zimbabwe to grab resources and re channel them to UK. Like Zimbabwe though, the SA whites never paid for the land they occupiedn hence how can it be fair for SA govt to pay to the reacquisition of stolen land?
Juju is not really wrong this time around. SA People mostly black and coloured people leave in unimaginable conditions. The share very little land whilst the minority whites have vast lands they can’t account for. Yes, this land they just grabed violently from the indigenous people. Is that fair, should we just leave it like that, if so why?
