Prophet attracts more visitors per week than Vic Falls in a month

via I resurrected 29 people — Angel – DailyNews Live Drum  30 SEPTEMBER 2013

He has private audiences with current and former heads of States including Nelson Mandela just before his recent discharge from hospital and he prophesied the deaths of Michael Jackson and former British Prime Minister Margaret  Thatcher.

He’s Prophet Uebert Angel (34), a British-Zimbabwean preacher whose church, Spirit Embassy, attracts more than 10 000 worshippers every Sunday at the Graniteside area in Harare.

The congregation on any given Sunday is a mix of politicians, top executives and ordinary people who are desperate for financial gain, healing of a variety of diseases, and many more miracles that Prophet Angel is reputed to be able to deliver.

At least a thousand are international visitors, which prompted Zimbabwe Tourism minister Walter Mzembi to say, “He brings more tourists to this country every week than Victoria Falls attracts in a month.”

When Drum arrived to interview him at his offices in Harare’s industrial area, the parking lot was full of luxury vehicles of all sorts including a black Bentley convertible, three Range Rover SUVs, a black Dodge truck, a red Mercedes Benz SLS AMG Roadster and a white 2013 Range Rover Autobiography Sport.

Inside we meet Prophet Angel’s wife of 13 years, Beverly (32), who has just returned from a trip to Norway. Chic and elegant, she’s a fashion designer who owns an exclusive boutique in the plush Borrowdale suburb of Harare and a few more in England.

She has also emerged from her husband’s shadow to become a prophetess in her own right.

Interviews with Angel, a father of four boys, are rare. When he does grant them, his answers are curt and some have accused him of being somewhat arrogant.

He even suggests visiting Mandela was nothing out of the ordinary, having met him twice once at Madiba’s home in Qunu last year and recently when the former president was in Pretoria Mediclinit Hospital.

“I have met many important people including leaders of nations, billionaires and the poorest of the poor.”

Prophet Angel admits that his “ miracle money” exploits, in which members of his flock apparently miraculously receive money purses, pockets and bank accounts sometimes amounting to millions at a time — is what grabs most of the headlines.

More than any other of his wide-ranging claims, the promise of “miracle money” is what has made him such a hit and probably accounts for the large attendance at his church on Sundays.

“Jesus preached about money more than hell and heaven combined,” he says, putting “miracle money” in a biblical context.

Prophet Angel believes his ministry is often misunderstood. “Some call us prosperity gospel preachers. There is nothing called prosperity gospel, there are only believers who have understood the gospel and they’re prospering because of it,” he says.

“Jesus said he came to preach good news to the poor, and what else could be better news to the poor than that they don’t need to be poor any more?” asks the prophet.

Being poor is evidently the least of Prophet Angel’s problems — he reveals he owns a farm in the United Kingdom and a range of profitable companies globally.

He admits the prophecies and miracles he performs attract as much interest as his lavish lifestyle and love of the finer things in life.

Asked if he ever feels guilty about driving a Bentley through Harare’s sea of poverty?

“Poverty is relative, in as much as riches are relative,” he says. “Your two legs may be prosperity to someone with no legs and your five dollars might be prosperity to someone with nothing.”

He insists all his cars were gifts from friends and wealthy members of his church.

He claims he doesn’t draw a salary from the church’s income and says he has invited the media to inspect his financial records.

For all his flash and flamboyance. Angel claims he’s also a philanthropist. He says he gives away a car almost every week to a lucky member of his congregation. To date the most expensive car which was given away was a Range Rover Sport in May this year.

In June last year, Prophet Angel spent time with former president Nelson Mandela at his home in Qunu.

Sources say the prophet’s wife Beverly is a close friend of the Mandela family.

Prophet Angel also claims to have a soup kitchen in the poor neighbourhood of Highfield in Harare where thousands of widows and orphans are fed every day.

He also says he pays the school fees for those who can’t afford to do so and builds houses for the homeless.

Asked how he managed to meet Nelson Mandela during one of his visits to Mzansi when so many world leaders and Hollywood A-listers wait for years for a brief moment with the apartheid struggle icon, Prophet Angel says, “To God, everyone is a soul, and by the grace of God, 1 have met many, including leaders of nations, billionaires and the poorest of the poor.

“To say what I meet them for or why they meet me would mean I should tell you why everyone meets me and I just don’t have the time to do that and I never will.

“Besides, Mandela is an international icon and in the words of Barack Obama ‘an inspiration to the world’, of which I am a citizen.”

Drum attended one of his Sunday services the day after the interview and a South African woman gave testimony that she had been healed of HIV.

When we talk to him about this after the service he says he has cured cancer sufferers and even resurrected 29 people from the dead.

There seems to be no end to Prophet Angel’s powers, and to put him to the test we watch closely his prophesy of the World Cup qualifier match to be played between Sweden and Ireland in a few days’ time.

I am in the process of writing to my local MP to ask that this individual’s farm is appropriated and returned to my white British brothers and sisters.Further, I will ask that his wife’s businesses meet the same criteria of 51% indigenous ownership in the UK as is applied to white people in Zimbabwe. They are obviously not indigenous to Britain, just like mugabe, because of their black faces.
Mugabe, you keep your dump called Zimbabwe and I’ll keep my Britain!!

Britain doesn’t belong to you. Zimbabwe doesn’t belong to him. Further more, I’m certain your aware of history. History makes your comment complete rubbish.

I have always had one problem with this type of “Christian prophet”. Christ never performed a single miracle where he made a(financially) poor person become rich. On the contrary, he told those who wanted to follow him to first go and give away all their worldly goods, if they wanted to enter the Kingdom. He usually told those he cured to tell no-one (presumably because he wanted to attract true believers and seekers of God, not hordes of those desperate for self-serving miracles),

Christ never made a financially poor person rich? Are you out of your mind. He became poor (on the cross) that we may be rich. To the poor he came to give them the WORD so they can prosper. Lack doesnt exist in Gods Kingdom. The Bible speaks more on wealth issues than any other “you shall eat the fat of the land..” Read Deutronomy 28, Malachi 3 vs 10. Prov 10v22 .

Excuse me, I am so flabbergasted by your comments that seems to be going on in the mainstream. This particular scripture is good but you need to look at the ENTIRETY of the bible. Not pick and choose what is appropriate. It is this kind of scripture that stands alone that keeps people in bondage. Please seek the lord and repent.

Jesus never really blessed anyone that they be rich, instead he asked the rich young man to sell all he had to give to the poor and commands that he follows him with no worldly possessions. Its only satan who have enticed the hearts of men through reaches power and authority. Satan tempted Jesus that he turns stones into bread to satisfy hunger as jesus had been fasting for 40 day and 40 nigths. Jesus decline, and satan tempeted Jesus with temptation of his authority and still failed. Then finally satan promised riches of the world and kindgoms if only Jesus could bow down and worship him. The savior rebuked satan. The only man who got riches from God in a way that needs a visit and might be mistaken and be equated
To this prophet’s ways was Job. Job was rich and very faithful to God. Satan tried Job by inflicting physical pain on his body and emotional pain as he lost his worldly possessions then spiritual misery
By taking his children. Then and only then did God restore all he had lost. Everything was restored to him in many folds. This is because the lord had. Trusted him and he did not let God down.I just don’t understand when one prophet just goes about blessing people with miraculous money which they do not have to work for. Remember when God fed the children of Israel with manna. They neded to collect it, and they were only given enough for the day as they could not gather and store it for tommorow. Hence each day they would have to collect manna. The 4criptures are replete with examples of how God can supply our needs when we trust in him, but he never promises to supply our wants. We should learn to separate
Our wants from our needs. God gives us our needs and satan will draw us close by furnishing
    Us with our wants.

Charlie Chochrane is very confused and lakes understanding. This Prophet does not have to be treated badly because some white people lost their farms from Mugabe. What does this guy have to do with that? Its just like zimbabweans claiming that Britain return that which they took from their country, that is the resources shiped to the west from zimbabwe for more than a century. That wouldn’t be fair, would it be? We can’t judge people because of others mistakes. This guy did not participate
    In that Mugabes nbad decision
Neither did the !ritish govenment of today have anything to do with the shiping of zimbabwes resources
to England. I know its all semm very unfair in both situations, but you can’t just misplace the blame just to make yourself feel good.
