Biti’s shilly-shallying

via Biti’s shilly-shallying | The Zimbabwean 16 July 2014 by Jera

If Biti is healthy then his fitness is only physical. His constant shilly-shallying – one moment he wants to form his own MDC Orange and then the next minute he wants to push Morgan Tsvangirai from MDC Red, a party to which he himself does not belong – raises questions about his mental wellness. Social networking sites are florid with before and after images showing Biti’s weight loss in the past year.

Whether Biti – a political nonentity at this point, really – is on the verge of death or fit enough to outrun Caster Semenya, frankly, is of little importance.

Zimbabweans will do well to focus on bread and butter issues. The country might be in a better place, if we as a nation put as much effort into national building as we do in cutting and pasting photos of Tendai Biti.

Of course, any such trivialities as Biti’s health will only please those who continue to hold 13million lives to ransom. While we speculate about Biti’s prescription drugs, this once beautiful country remains on life-support – if at all we have sufficient electricity to run such machinery.

It can’t be about him Jera as you put it but whether his moves are positive or not,as we burrow forward politically.

Biti is a damp squib and has made a terrible fool of himself, and his flirtation with Gono has shown us his true illness with no tablets to fix stupidity. Begone Biti!!

Excellent observation Jera. There are many intelligent Zimbabweans who are not politicians but want what the majority want – bona fide educated leaders to make us feel once more proud to be Zimbabwean and say ‘YES! this OUR country – not Mugabe’s or ZANU UPF’s (UNpatriotic Front)or even MDC’s. PLEASE would these people step forward, regardless of tribe, colour or political persuasion, and try to form TOGETHER a cohesive management strategy which would benefit ALL the people of this once-magnificent land? Then we could truly go forward with our heads held high and say ‘this is what ”freedom” is all about’.

What you propose Angela is well and good.
Unfortunately it aint going to happen with ZANU in power.

To lump the MDC in the same category as ZANU, is to fall into the ZANU trap of destroying everything, including any opposition.

      I also Concur…

politicians are the same…we need to balance them in terms of power..if we give one absolute power they will urinate over us as what Zanu is doing to us. If people have alternatives let them come forward and we weigh them, be it Zunde, MDC Renewal, NCA, ZUD, but at the moment, in my opinion, lets put our weight on MDC-T.

The reason why most European countries have successful models is because no usually gets more than 50 hence he becomes more cooperative and accountable.

The so called land slide victory of 31st July was disaster for Zimbabwe, as we now see. No one can trust his wealth to bunch of thieves, especially if they have absolute power.

In the unit gvt we gave best security as minister of finance. We gave him all the allowances he needed. With our security boys crossing checking him did have the chance to buy protection. Ahhhhh that would have been a disgrace to Minister. We made sure he had the best girls around him. You see!

Both Tsvangirai and Biti are foolish geeks and want to use the people just like ZAN.U PF. Tsvangirai is guilty of lack of order and omission and commission. He forgot the voters role in a crucial election (Omission). He slept with a convoy of women when it would bring an organization into disrepute at a crucial moment. That on its own is irreparable because we can’t believe he has changed because we were angry ….there is no logic in that.Tsvangirai is also rumoured to be dictatorial a tendency which can be proved if one looks at his decisions and his close coterie. Then Biti: Together he is indicted for ommission with his erstwhile leader on the voter’s roll issue. His second crime is dividing the party by not challenging Tsvangirai in an orderly manner rendering MDC as an organisation irreparable just when people expected results. He can also be charged with cowardice fearing to face Tsvangirai in an open challenge. The people could have seen his leaving MDC as legit if it was a result of a legit challenge. He could have gotten many symphathisers becoz many of us had already begun to see Tsvangirai’s dictatorial mien. As for his new party supported by the West and White farmers it may be seen as opportunism for personal gain. However what has been done cannot be undone and Biti has a constitutional right to form his own Orange party, a new brand. We are tired of the fissionist MDC brand. The ZANU brand has not been transparent, but has results as you can see,….thanks to Biti – Tsvangirai ‘meticulous planning”. Now where are we> maybe God does not want Tsvang to rule ZImbabwe becoz you can only imagine what will happen to women if Tsvangson who surpasses Zuma takes the helm. We are tired kukorobheswa people’s dirt.

@Johnson I think you are correct about these people erring. What I don’t buy is that womanising amongst politicians has suddenly been Twangirayis biggest mistake. I don’t agree with it. I don’t subscribe to it. What I can say is that if you can show me one Black Politician who is not promiscuous then I will show you a donkey with horns. It is in all of their nature and we all know it. They know it. That is why some of the farms they took over from the whites farmers were not producing because they were used as weekend getaways with their mistresses. Let any one of them deny it. Even the first black Prime minister of the then Zimbabwe Rhodesia and the first black Prime minister of Zimbabwe were both caught with their pants down. Biti is no slouch either. Neither are any of the others. We go back to the small houses that surface from time to time. If we had a free press you would maybe see the scale of it.The rest I can agree with you. Why do you think so many have been and continue to be taken by aids?

Doctor do little. The first Prime Minister of Zimbabwe Rhodesia was the late Bishop Abel Tendekayi Muzorewa. The President (the role was ceremonial) was Josiah Zion Gumede.

Now, dear Doctor do little, could you, kindly, enlighten us as to when, where and with whom was Bishop Abel Muzorewa caught with his pants down?

I am no relative, political affiliate or otherwise of Bishop Muzorewa, but for the record you could enlighten us on this issue.

Its Biti who started to decampaign Tsvangirayi saying he was loose on women so people are responding showing Biti,s true colours and that he is a hypocrite. Let us learn to talk about bread and butter issues and not dwell on someone’s private life. All leaders of the world have their own affairs some known but were still voted and became good leaders. Lets not dwell on personal life choices. If you try to show people that you are clean and inclined to assassinate other people’s characters then the populace has the right to counter attack and expose you. In this case Biti acted prematurely as a street man.

How can you wait for congress when structures are being tampered with to suit one outcome which is to ensure a Tsvangirai victory? It is folly to sit down and start praying when a lion is advancing menacingly. Tsvangirai should have stepped and let somebody takeover at congress as opposed to contesting again. When is he going to quit? Lets believe in institutions as opposed to individuals. We are creating another Mugabe by allowing Tsvangirai to hold onto power. He is making the movement a personal toy where he commandeers resources as he pleases. Change is coming but not with Tsvangirai.
