Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe has thrown his weight behind Uganda’s draconian anti-gay laws and hinted at a crackdown on gays in his own country, state media reported Monday.
He castigated the West for punishing Kampala with aid cuts after President Yoweri Museveni signed into law a bill that banned homosexuality in the east African country.
“They (the West) want to tell us… that it’s a violation of human rights, that is what they are doing to Museveni right now,” Mugabe said.
DAUGHTER’S WEDDING
“The human right you have as a man is to marry another woman not to get another man to marry, we refuse that,” said Mugabe at a weekend wedding reception of his only daughter Bona.
Mugabe has previously said homosexuality is un-African and described gays and lesbians as worse than pigs and dogs.
“It’s a terrible world we are in, a terrible world where people want to do things that they feel will enhance their own interests.”
He said until recently he was not aware of the existence of an association of homosexuals in Zimbabwe, and warned he would want to know who belongs to the group.
MUGABE RANTING
“I understand we have a group of homosexuals in this country. I didn’t know until I was told the day before yesterday. So we want to check on who is in that group,” Mugabe said.
The Gays and Lesbians Association of Zimbabwe (Galz) has long operated in the country despite Mugabe’s ranting against homosexuality.
Police have on several occasions raided the Galz offices and prosecutors had laid charges against the association accusing it of operating an unregistered organisation.
However, a magistrate dismissed the case last week. Same sex marriages are outlawed in Zimbabwe.

Gay rights are not a very interesting subject. The gays can fight their own battles. What is more interesting is that if Mugabe and Musaveni agree on something then it must by definition be wrong. These are bent men. My own understanding is that those who like to shout out against gays are fighting against the homosexuality within themselves. Look at both of them. They look gay.

Murimi, you don’t have to support it because sex is a private matter. Question is, given sex happens behind closed days, how can anyone claim to want to know how it is done? What gives you that right when no one interferes with how you make love to your wife? Why do you choose to make it your business who sleeps with who and how? Typical of our illustrious leader to want to divert the country’s attention. While I personally don’t care much for these so called ‘gay’ people there are clearly much more important matters that the president should be addressing. For starters what about the starving people of Tokwe Mukorsi or ‘salarygate’ for that matter????
These are all diversionary tactics, and people easily fall for it. We all know who has destroyed the lives of Zimbabweans, we all know who is guilty of treason. The gays ,have they killed anyone, is there any public indecency issue, I have known gays who are artistic, patriotic, compassionate and good natured people, unlike the group of Zanoids in control.
We need leadership that recognise the diverse nature of the nation use that to propell us forward

This old man is an incorrigible hypocrite. Zimbabwe is a basket case because this geriatric has done nothing but serve his own interests. He is talking about Ugandan laws when he hasn’t even been to see the suffering of those displaced by the Tokwe-Mukorsi floods.
Diverting attention from the real issues affecting this country is all he does. We want him to create employment and make sure the country grows enough to feed itself. But then again, that would mean him stopping his cherished desire to serve his own interests. Pathetic.

Murimi, indeed you have a right to choose but, I say it again for the umpteenth time, it is not your business who people choose to sleep with consensually. You also have every right to wallow in your ignorance. Only an ignorant person would equate bestiality with homosexuality. In case you are aware of it, bestiality involves a human being having sex with an animal. Naturally, it is deemed an offence because the animal has no say in the matter.
As long as two gay people choose to have consensual sex, (in other words, when neither of the parties is being coerced), why would anyone with an iota of a brain compare it to bestiality? Reading about some of these things would help you not to make a fool of yourself in a public forum.

I think he had a bad time with the subject during his time in jail. It is a documented fact that one of his cell mates were gay.

Africans are pure, but this issue of gays and lesbians initialized from Roma et Rena (male and female) of Italy who were fatherless in the meantime married each other, who did this action Italian era people; Roma which is translated as ‘dog’ while Rena is translated ‘as male and female’; both Roma and Rena breastfed dog.
When we say they breastfed dog, we don’t mean human can breastfeed dog but that means that they breastfed Africa’s blood and flash and they hidden the issue ‘dog’
