SA work permit renewal shock

via SA work permit renewal shock | The Zimbabwean 14.05.14 by Nelson Sibanda

Over two million Zimbabweans are believed to be resident in South Africa for political and economic reasons. The majority of them have been living in fear following statements by the SA Home Office that renewals of work permits issued in 2010 will be handled ‘from their home countries’.

South African Ambassador Vusi Mavimbela said his government had not yet communicated with him regarding the modalities surrounding the renewal process.

Many Zimbabweans working down south are apprehensive that, after last week’s elections, the new government might adopt a foreign policy that would impact negatively on their residence status.

“Since the ANC endorsed Zimbabwe elections as free and fair, there are chances that the government might consider sending us home to rebuild our economy,” said Misheck Samuriwo, who is based in Durban.

The Minister of Home Affairs, Kembo Mohadi, recently said Zimbabwe had not received formal communication from its counterpart across the Limpopo about the permits.

What communication does Kempie Ma-hard want from RSA gvt? So that he can do what? Seeking relevance. Be happy that money is flowing from Diasporans into buying ministers’ porschee cars

Vana Mara Ndadzoka phendukani ekhaya ngezifefe! You like showing off as if it is a glorious thing to leave one’s country. That is why you do nothing except to show off to your neighbors that you are outside the country. You are living in democratic societies where you could do a lot to help expose the injustices that we must correct but some of you are in collusion with the looters here. Not many people will shed tears for you if you get expelled from whatever country.

To rebuild what without any jobs really. Lesson learnt in life dont wait for any politician to make life better for you, you make it happen.Remember you live once and its survival of the fittest and daring. The permit situation only brings back the many illegal to square one and the story continues “once upon a time when things were bad at home i skipped the country to survive” This is for future our generations to tell the tales. No one is going back home just to be honest lets be real i don’t see it. How can any sane person give up a means of survival.

not news worthy. Rather write about how the Zimbabweans are sustaining the South African economy. Without the quality skilled labour force from Zimbabwe, South Africa will go down.

sorry boss, South Africa has been a leader in Africa long before that blood suckers from up north came to our country. When you leave our country our economy will massively go up because the R1 billion that goes out will stay at home.

hands off South Africa. We don’t owe Zim anything, we’ve opened our hearts and I believe its enough now. We’ve had enough of the job thieves who contribute nothing to the economy because every cent is swindled out of the country and only for Mugabe to tell us that his People are literally running our economy. All fake I.D’s that they are using must be cancelled, suckers deported immediately and soldiers deployed on all entrance spots at the borders. We can’t take it anymore!!!

Proudly South Africa, you are such an idiot, you are the very person who bought a South African ID and now you want to make yourself superior than any other Zimbabwean. Educated South Africans don’t talk the rubbish you are saying here because they know how much educated Zimbabweans are contributing to the SA economy, only the illiterate. For your own information SA was built by foreigners long back, who used to come and work in the mines and roads, small mind and big mouth, empty vessels are always the noise makers.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this “proudly south african” person is actually a zimbo. If you are tired with your life and bored, go and find something else to do. Stop seeking attention online. Do something useful with your life

THE SADC IS JUST AS USELESS- how can you make Mugabe a Ceremonial Leader? This is the orgainisation that should be dealing with REAL ISSUES – Human Rights organisations, and Migrant Organisation and those in Civl Society are taking their own sweet time to face the AU and SADC FACE TO FACE
AFRICAN PEOPLES TIME AS IT IS CALLED where people take their own sweet time to deal with important issues
The african leaders do not give a STUFF ABOUT THE ORDINARY PEOPLE THEY SERVE – IT IS ALWAYS ABOUT THEM THEY ARE THE ONES LOOTING PROSECUTE THEM

    So what! 10 years ago

When a boat is sinking… One must decide whether they want to skip & try to make it to shore thru the dangerous waters on their own power OR they just stay put & sink with the boat & be declared LOYAL. It’s their choice either way…. No one has a right to condemn them to have made whichever choice!
