Tsvangirai to present alternative state-of-the-nation address

via Tsvangirai to present alternative state-of-the-nation address – DailyNews Live  20 JANUARY 2014

Opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai will tomorrow present an alternative state-of-the-nation address to proffer solutions to deepening politico-socio-economic problems bedevilling the country.

The address, to be made from the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Harare, is expected to be attended by the business community, the media, students and civic society leaders, among other interested groups.

Tsvangirai’s spokesperson Luke Tamborinyoka told the Daily News that the event has been necessitated by the multi-layered crises confronting the country.

“The country is facing the crises of legitimacy arising from the stolen election, governance and leadership, as well as a crisis of expectations, emanating from unfulfilled Zanu PF promises,” Tamborinyoka said.

He said during the event, Tsvangirai will proffer possible solutions to the problems, including the protracted salary battle between government and civil servants.

“Zanu PF claimed an overwhelming victory in the previous elections, but what the ordinary Zimbabweans are being made to see now is under-whelming delivery,” Tamborinyoka said.

“The country is on its knees, yet the leadership of the country does not seem to have a clue on how to solve the challenges.

“Some even have the luxury to go on leave, as if all is well in the country,” he said, apparently referring to President Robert Mugabe who has just returned from his annual vacation and is expected back at work this month-end.

Tsvangirai should now retire — he had many opportunities to use his popular support to bring us to a new place, but failed. We are back to 2008. He is now entirely powerless, and this is just talk that will not be listened to.

Morgan, since leaving office has suddenly found his voice. He is now articulate, brave and full of wisdom. Now we beleive him.
Just a slight correction.Which head of state does not go leave.
So he wanted Bob to stick around in the office over Christmas and New Year, while he goes to Cape Town with his girlfriends?

Morgan can hope this populism , and Sadc, as a wet face cloth, could dry out and say that after the second world war, just a year or two later, Europeans and Germans, could be neighbours and love each other for their futures.

@Sekuru , this is for my first time to see you missing a point , remember Sekuru Tsvangirai is not MDC T he is leading the party and we the MDC T members have given him the mandate to lead us , give him a chance to address us and those who are interested , today you say Tsvangirai must retire for what good reason , tomorrow you will be against ZANU PF and you are one of those who echored out that ZANU PF rigged the elections , my Sekuru i always admire your comments but today sorry Sekuru to say that you missed the branch , wakashembera Sekuru wangu . Continue with your better advise but refraining from being against the leader of MDC T , may be you made a mistake who must retire Mugabe or Tsvangirai , kindly correct your mistake and your miscalculation .

Morgan is a ZANU-PF sell out, a man who has paid over $1 000 000 out to girlfrends since his wife has died, living in a estimated $4 000 000 home, renivated by Government ( ZANU-PF ) And driving around in a small motorcade… The MDC leadership has been bought off and they have sold out..

You see we are all tearing each other to pieces again. I wonder where all this is going to get us. And I wonder if Murimi has an idea for a better leader? Because if he has we would like to know. There was a time we all supported bob and he boys! I wonder if Murimi has ever stopped to think why most of us stopped doing that? Morgan is certainly not perfect but then he has not run the country for 34 years and so who are we to judge. And by the way, Mr President isn’t squeaky clean in the relationship department either and if I recall he often berates most of his ministers for having more than a few ‘small houses.” So let us all please shut up about MRT and his unfortunate love life because I am wondering if all you who point fingers are living in glass houses and throwing stones?? Come on Zimbabwe. Let us grow up. And we definitely need an alternative to ZPF. If they were doing their job we wouldn’t all be so desperate for one would we? No wonder Jesus bent down and wrote in the sand when all those hypocrits demanded the adulteresses stoning?

What new can this illiterate TEA-Boy present on to the business community? Only trying to seek political relevance.

Every time you cry that the elections were stolen from your nose even at a time when you were the country’s PM. You are a fool. That’s why most people don’t vote for you. If we vote for you, we risk hearing you next time saying “OH, THE COUNTRY HAS BEEN STOLEN FROM ME”

Murimiwanhasi is just Mugabe bootlicker. A man of sober habits and level headed can never think that an old man like Mugabe must continue to lead us. What new ideas do u expect from that frail sick man who even needs help to walk on his own. Let’s give Tsvangirayi chance to prove himself. Mugabe has failed us for 34 years. Tsvangirayi is younger and is the darling of the nation. Like it or not but that is the truth.
