Fabricated war records

via Fabricated war records | The Zimbabwean 20 August 2014 by Jera

If there is any truth to Mutsvanga’s claims, one wonders why it has taken a whole 34 years for the lie – if it is a lie – to be revealed. It is likely that the other Zanu (PF) faction(s) are keen to regain lost ground in the succession race, hence the attack on Mujuru and her cohort.

If the war records of Mutasa and Mujuru have been fabricated, Zimbabweans must certainly ask why Mutsvanga was complicit in upholding such myths since independence. In fact, the same query can be posed to Oppah Muchinguru: if Mujuru indeed is a husband burner, why has Muchinguri saved this juicy morsel until now.

Mujuru’s death was certainly suspicious but, as he was her most important ally, it is unlikely that Joice was responsible. In fact, some might argue that if he were still alive, junior elements in Zanu (PF) might have been less forthright with their opinions. Whatever the truth may be, the succession plot is unravelling into an edge-of-the-seat drama which will only get juicier as December congress approaches.

Those who participated in the war have no doubt that Mutsvangwa is telling the truth. Some of us have always known that it is a lie that Teurai Ropa shot down a helicopter!

WHat did she do after the copter came down? What other comrade was with her to assess the damage. Comrades went aroud carrying AK47’s not machine guns. For those who do not know, that gun is heavy, highly unlikely that it would be assigned to a woman.

Teurai Ropa shot down a helicopter ?

I am sure she was such a gallant fighter that she not only shot down a helicopter but also two Hawker Hunter fighter bombers – after shooting them down she set upon the pilots and cut their throats – this Joyce Mujuru of Spill blood fame – Teurai Ropa – the one of cunning and clever brain – what might we have done without her !?

Then tell us about how Tongogara died. I and many others believe Mugabe and his group killed Tongogara and Dongo knows the truth as well. So tell us the story behind the killing of Tongo.

He was assassinated in Mozambique by an East German assassin who specialised in “car accident.” Tungamirai and 5 others were behind it I believe.

That is what happens when you repeat a lie over and over again. You end up believing in it. As a former fighter myself I have known this to be a childish lie. Women were never sent to the battle front. Yes they were used to carry supplies but that was all. Never into battles. Mujuru did not spill blood in battle. Maybe the blood of those of us falsely accused of being sell-outs.

Saw women in the bush with weapons in 78/9. The contact was in very thick bush one crawled forward and pulled a wounded man into cover.

Not only that she went on to take on an entire regiment of the famous serous scouts single handedly killing them all. Then she went on to smiths house and chased him to South Africa . After that she took on three rhodesian t34 tanks blowing them up. In between all this she grabbed a Strela and downed two canberra bombers. This woman is a true hero of zanupf and deserves the right to own Zimbabwe and continue the looting. Viva Mujuru our hero.

Its a big awkward lump of metal, and it moves a lot when you fire it. You need a friend to carry the ammunition. As soon as you open fire you will be the brightest loudest and slowest target in a battlefield. Not saying she couldn’t do it, but if you said a zanu-pf member managed to boil a kettle I would have reservations.

she took out 3 rhodesian unimogs using an RPG and captured 18 RLI infantry on her own….i also heard that during her spare time she used to demine the mt selinda area with no equipment whatsoever…least known is that she jumped onto a Rhodesian grenade to save her comrades…luckily it was a dud and failed to explode

Women did not go into combat during the war that’s the whole truth. Spill blood, Oppah, Dongo etc were secretaries in Maputo or girl friends of the bosses. How many of us during the war encountered a female soldier. Its not possible that out of a group of ten comrades they could have one female combatant. Hazviite hazviite. The temptation to gang rape her would be too great. Vana chimbwido were raped wani. Look at it this way women need privacy ko how would she find privacy to change her pads when she has her monthly periods?

certainly idiotic to say becoz she is a woman she cudnt have done this or that…ok mayb she didn’t shoot down the helicopter but my impression is she certainly was tough and made some sort of telling contribution to the struggle more than the other females in that era

Kana usina kumbobata pfuti uchirwira nyika yako haumbofa wakanzwisisa chinonzi Hondo. I went to Moza in 1977 aged 15. I ended up in Tanzania for further training. I have fought side by side with women who were great comrades. About downing a chopper, anything was possible tirimusango. Taitungamirirwa nevadzimu. Some choppers were even downed by AK 47s. Vadzimu na mwari ndivo vataifamba navo tirimusango. There are many untold stories that happened that most of you will never know. I grew up to be a man at the battle front when l was young and never had a chance to be a boy. You must all know that we did not get Zimbabwe from Smith on a silver platter. Zimbabwe yakaerera ropa, ropa remagamba. Vana mukoma Kamoto nana Mukoma Sabhu vakasara musango. Taibata pamwe nana Mukoma Devil Kuvachena, nanaMukoma Tiyoga. Taiva navo vana Mukoma Tichatonga nana Mukoma Beserk. The least one can do as a Zimbabwean is to respect and honour all the comrades who selflessly fought for the liberation of our country from white colonization.

Yes Gandanga. A thousand plus salutes to selfless cadres. But when Mutsvangwa starts saying what he is saying now he creates many questions in people’s mind. Key among them is the question, “How much of what has been reported (is known) about Zanu(PF) and war heroes is true?” The liberation war battlefield was large and no single comrade can claim to have seen or to know what happened everywhere.

I can personally vouch for Gandanga. He was there too when Mujuru slaughtered the selous scouts he was there taking bullet father bullet for his saviour Mujuru. He was actually catching the bullets with his hands before they could strike him or her dead. He was the one who lay on the ground in front of the unimogs and stopped them with his swift hand so skilled was he. And the 18 RLI well they looked once at the face of Mujuru and Gandanga and fell to the ground weeping for mercy.
    Pigs might fly too.

As long as we have people like Mukono who was deputised by Tongogara in the Dare reChimurenga as Defence secretary buried at Warren Hills and not considered a war hero, i will question these so called Hero stories. Even the great Bob’s only tale of war is escaping through the windows to escape arrest en route to Moza.

The losses of all Rhodesain aircraft that were shot down are very well documented and can be verified by many ex pilots and soldiers who are active on social media. If Teurayi Ropa did such a noteworthy act she should tell the world when and where exactly it happened. Unless her memory is conveniently erased.
I do not believe a word of it.
