Successful businesswoman Nyasha Gwatidzo is walking 295 km along the Thames River in the UK to raise funds for the charity she founded 10 years ago – Vana Trust.

The Zimbabwean-born entrepreneur runs a successful multimillion pound business called Banya Family Placement Agency in London with branches across the UK. The walk is expected to take 12 days – and is scheduled to end on July 11.

Vana Trust runs projects in Zimbabwe and Southern Africa and Vana Trust Organic Farm runs a therapeutic farm in the UK working with children with a variety of special needs such as autism and ADHD. The Trust runs a school for children orphaned as a result of the HIV/AIDS scourge in Zimbabwe and hopes to raise enough funds to build a science lab at the school. – for more info katy.vanatrust@gmail.com; www.justgiving.com/NyashaGwatidzo
