Look in the mirror Mr President

HARARE – It surely should not escape President Robert Mugabe in his withering criticism of his senior Zanu PF colleagues over the past week that this is akin to the pot calling the kettle black.

Staggeringly, our nonagenarian leader would want his followers to believe that the myriad of problems bedevilling his party and its incompetent government since independence in 1980 have absolutely nothing to do with him!

It really boggles the mind.

Speaking on Friday night during his closing speech at the Women’s League conference, Mugabe blasted Zanu PF’s senior administration team — which was a veiled attack on secretary for administration Didymus Mutasa and political commissar Webster Shamu — claiming that they had failed dismally to run the party, as well as to account for its assets, funds, staff and members.

“…The party headquarters employ people, but it is never done in the correct way, we only hear this worker belongs to this official and this one belongs to the other official. No, that is not how it should be. Sometimes we even hear that our critics are employed here and sometimes end up working in government,” he added.

This may have been a tacit reference to the cases of Sunday Mail editor Edmund Kudzayi and Zanu PF information director Psychology Maziwisa, who were once seen as rabid critics of the party before they were co-opted at the party’s headquarters to help run last year’s disputed elections.

Mugabe also bemoaned the fact that a number of companies owned by his party were performing dismally and not generating any funds to support the party’s activities. Among its property and assets portfolio, Zanu PF owns or has equity in such companies as Zidco, Tregers Holdings, Jongwe Printers and airports food company Catercraft.

Well, just in case our President doesn’t know this, the same rot bedevilling his beloved Zanu PF is also destroying the country. And it’s all presided over by the same cast of inept leaders.

It really is most revealing, and symptomatic of the twisted leadership culture within Zanu PF, a party that Mugabe and his wife lead, that the President and first secretary of the party will not take any responsibility for the mess that both Zanu PF and the country are in as a direct result of his and Zanu PF’s misrule.

Indeed, how come Mugabe never seems to know about and to be in control of what happens in his party and his government? And who do Mutasa and Shamu report to both within the party and government that he would now seem surprised by their alleged lack of efficacy as administrators?

In addition, if they are useless managers, what is he doing about their alleged incompetence?

Nothing wrong with Africans having the majority, as long as the environment and individual freedoms are there to help them create wealth.

For example, Singapore and Hong Kong have similar timelines to Zimbabwe, since independance. So go compare their economic well-being.

The despot who is Mugabe wants to sit on top of a statist Marxist regime and say who get’s what.

Meanwhile Singapore (a previous swamp) and Hong Kong move ever upwards and onwards.

The low information voters of Zimbabwe are kept that way by the despot Mugabe.

Race is not important, leadership is everything. Individuals need to feel free and encouraged to create wealth first for themselves and by doing so create wealth fr others.

This is alien to Mugabe’s MARXIST mind, which is why he has bankrupted the country and impoverished 99% of it’s citizens.

As I will keep saying, Mugabe is a reptilian coward who merely had the fortune of having power thrust upon him for his articulation of the English language (which in these climes is equated to intelligence and competence). Ducking accountability is his core competence. Demolition, which he is also good at, erases the accountability trail; so we had Gukurahundi, Black September 1997 (or was it October), “Land Reform” (my ass), Murambatsvina, election violence each and every time, a police state … ad nauseum. He created nothing. The essence of the educational infra that he is credited with existed before him. He keeps dim wits around him so we believe him when he accuses them of incompetence – yet he retains them anyway. Such Machiavellian cynicism. He is singularly accountable for the plight of our motherland, and he knows it, hence the fear of passing the baton.

Asians work harder and don’t steal. That’s the difference. The mindset in Zimbabwe is one of kleptocracy led by Mugabe.

The other problem is that Mugabe still thinks he’s stealing from the British and so it’s ok he hasn’t realised that zaunpf are in fact stealing from themselves.

You saying the gukurahundi thinks he is “stealing” from the British? I dont think so. Stealing involves secrecy/stealth. He thinks he is “taking”; not “stealing”!

Mugabe and Zanu are the devil’s incarnates. The orchestrated and preside over the demise of Zimbabwe and its beautiful people with thousands becoming aliens in far and near lands. Who ever let him usurp leadership of the struggle in the ’70s?Him and his inerpt bunch of thieves are just a shame to most of right thinking Zimbabweans. Fail to take responsibility for their bungling and putting the blame on every one else save theselves. When will we peace loving and violence averse Zimbabweans be free.
