Zanu-PF has hailed President Mugabe’s speech at the 70th Session of the United Nations General Assembly this week, describing it as a masterpiece. President Mugabe, who is also African Union Chair, said the continent did not need handouts from donors or the West in its development quest, and was seeking investors who wanted to come in and reap the rewards of partnering the continent.
He also castigated “the self-anointed prefects of our time” for trying to impose “new rights” on the world, and for fostering injustices that included the illegal and discredited economic sanctions on Zimbabwe.
In a thinly veiled reference to the Western crusade to bully small and developing countries into accepting “gay rights”, President Mugabe said the UN Charter was the standard by which nations should be measured.
In a statement, Zanu-PF spokesman Cde Simon Khaya Moyo, hailed President Mugabe for his bravery in delivering the timely and eloquent speech.
“President Mugabe’s speech at the 70th Session of the United Nations General Assembly on Monday was a masterpiece.
“As usual the President was fearless, precise, focused and factual in all dimensions.
“He did not only speak for Zimbabwe but uplifted the spirit of Africa in his eloquent and free lecture, particularly to the West.
“Clearly, the bullies of this world must have trembled to hear the President speak in their faces about the meaning of humanity,” reads the statement.
Cde Khaya-Moyo said the President correctly reminded the West that each sovereign country was entitled to rule and manage its own affairs without external interference or bullying.
“Some of the so-called civilised countries in the West long parted with civilisation and it was necessary to remind them that God created this world with each country free to rule and look after its affairs without interference.
“Sovereignty and justice know no colour and need no Alsatians to bully small and developing countries.
“Human rights have no colour either and the Almighty endowed each country with natural resources to be owned and utilised by its people,” said Cde Khaya-Moyo.
Zanu-PF called for the unconditional removal of the illegal sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe by the West.
“While we are indeed masters of our own destiny, the removal of illegally imposed sanctions on Zimbabwe by the European Union and the United States of America must be removed totally and unconditionally,” said Cde Khaya-Moyo.
Cde Khaya-Moyo said while President Mugabe was calling for unity and peace, some opposing forces were pushing for anarchy and disharmony in the world.
“The President spoke for all of us in Zimbabwe and Africa as a whole. I hope Zimbabwe’s negative media listened and took notes from the wisdom of a true statesman.
“The negative media has a daily menu of falsehoods, malignant lies and hypocritical pronouncements, based on wishful thinking and mesmerizing hallucinations.
“When President Mugabe calls for peace and unity, the opposition parties in our midst call for disharmony and anarchy,” he said.
Cde Khaya-Moyo said Zimbabweans need unite and work together to boost the country’s economy.
“We need to speak with one voice about the growth of our economy, the implementation of Zim-Asset, the call for Foreign Direct Investment and promotion of local investment. We need to tackle the challenges of drought as responsible citizens and ensure none of our people starve,” he said.
He urged all Zimbabweans to embrace the 10-point plan for economic growth for the growth of the country’s economy.

The West trembles before this mighty leader of a great and rich country displaying his power. I don’t think. The man and his sycophants are morons who have destroyed a country through their greed and corruption. They didn’t need sanctions to do this even non existent ones but this does give them something to blame and try to convince the world that they are not to blame for the travails of the country. But they are only believed by fools who support this gang of thieves.

Sovereignty? Which sovereignty when you don’t even have your currency.
No need for donors? Yes, of course for the rich elite because the donors benefit the majority poor whose lives would have been worse without donors.
How can the more ‘powerful’ nations tremble about a speech from a leader whose country has no running water, no electricity, no functional hospitals and he flies overseas to get new medication.
Praise Mugabe for air miles but nothing more, he is a scourge and irrelevant to this world.
The biggest plus for Mr Mugabe this time is that he managed to read the correct speech. We cannot, even with trying to, forget that blunder, no matter how many ‘masterpieces’ will be delivered.
So calling for tolerance and respect for others but at the same time branding Gays as pigs and dogs. HMMM Zanu logic there…
