PRESIDENT Robert Mugabe’s wife Grace has sensationally claimed that Vice-President Joice Mujuru plans to humiliate her, “Gaddafi-style”, once her husband is no longer in office.

In yet another salvo fired at Mujuru, Grace told informal traders who had been invited to her Mazowe children’s home that the vice-president was luring her into a false sense of security before she pounces.

“She (Mujuru) has told people that she is luring me into a false sense of security while waiting for the President to die, and then she will humiliate me.

“She wants to drag me in a public humiliation while people watch. This is true and she cannot dispute it,” said the First Lady.

“I could not believe it and I wondered why she would even imagine doing that to me after all we have done to her as a family and individually.

“I supported her elevation to the presidency and this is how she has sought to repay me.”

Former Libyan dictator, Muammar Gadaffi was shot dead in 2011 during a violent revolt by Libyans, fed up by his 42-year old rule.

Mujuru has been under siege as Zanu PF prepares for a watershed congress set for December.

Internecine factional fights have intensified in the former liberation movement amid accusations that Mujuru was plotting to assassinate Mugabe, Zimbabwe’s only leader since independence from Britain 34 years ago.

The First Lady has been at the forefront of the attacks on the vice-president with the support of the state media machinery.

Mujuru earlier this week issued a statement rebuffing all the accusations against her.

She denied that she was corrupt and that she was plotting to oust Mugabe from power.
