The Zanu PF extraordinary politburo meeting, which was held in the capital on Friday ended in the evening with a strong stand to act decisively and firmly against cases of corruption.
The politburo members agreed that the vice should be investigated thoroughly and the details should be exposed before appropriate action is taken to deal with the perpetrators.

The politburo meeting also discussed the provincial executive elections and specifically those of the Midlands province where the politburo members agreed that the results initially announced by Dr Olivia Muchena should stand.

In that election, Cde Jason Machaya was elected provincial chairman, Tanaka Mageza youth chairman, while Cde Elina Shirichena provincial women’s league chairperson.
The meeting earlier on received reports on the Tokwe Mukorsi situation where the danger is being rectified with engineers working on site 24 hours.
The Minister of State for Masvingo province, Cde Kudakwashe Bhasikiti assured the politburo that work is underway to ensure that the dam wall is secure.
He asked people to remain on high ground.
Local Government, Public Works and National Housing Minister, Dr Ignatius Chombo said government has received great support and cooperation from the UN, which includes tents and medicines.

He, however, said they have no maize and are taking urgent steps to source funds to acquire the maize.
Dr Chombo paid tribute to embassies that have also come forward to help and assured the nation that care will be taken to ensure equitable distribution of the materials gathered.
