PRESIDENT Robert Mugabe will spare two non-Zanu PF envoys – one from the MDC and another from the MDC-T – during a forthcoming reshuffle of diplomatic staff, state TV reported last night.

Ambassador Trudy Stevenson, who is posted in Dakar, Senegal, will be staying put along with the MDC-T’s Hilda Mafudze, Zimbabwe’s top diplomat in Khartoum, Sudan.

But Mugabe will wield the axe on three MDC-T envoys who were posted in 2009 following a power sharing government with the two MDC parties.

Scandal-hit Jacqueline Zwambila, the country’s envoy to Australia, is being recalled at the end of December along with Hebson Makuvise (Germany) and Mabhedi Ngulane, who was posted to Abuja, Nigeria.

Zwambila was summoned back to Harare two years ago over claims she had stripped in front of male embassy staff. Makuvise, meanwhile, is a close relative of MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai.
