Zinara targets 14 additional tollgates

Government will this year commission 14 additional tollgates on highways across the country under a broad fund raising initiative for road upgrades and construction.

A senior official in the Ministry of transport said the decision was made following indications that revenue was not being optimised on particular highways.

The source said the plan is already underwear and points have since been identified.

Official data shows that single tollgate rakes in between $1,2 million and $1,5 million per year.
