Chombo: Mujuru a foolish, failed politician

FORMER Vice-President Joice Mujuru and her acolytes are failed politicians who do not deserve the support of any Zimbabwean, Zanu PF secretary for administration Ignatius Chombo has said.

Chombo told a campaign rally in Epworth ahead of a by-election being boycotted by the country’s main opposition parties that Mujuru had turned to the West for help to form her party.

“Newspapers are claiming President Mugabe is scared of a party reportedly being formed by Mujuru.

“They can form 50 parties and the President will not be scared of anyone of them. Do not listen to what these papers write.

“Mujuru and her group are politicians who are bereft of ideas and intellectual sophistication, they are fools.

“Their foolishness is evident in their failure to find even a colour for their party and I wonder what those who are following this party are after,” said Chombo.

Mujuru was forced out of Zanu PF along with a group of other top leaders and is now linked to a political outfit known as People First.

A week ago, Mujuru left Zanu PF in panic after publishing her manifesto over two years ahead of an expected election in 2018.

The manifesto that outlined Mujuru’s vision for the country seemed a direct attack on Mugabe’s 10 point plan.

The former Zanu PF second in command seemed confident she will form the next government after Mugabe.

Mujuru indicated a leaner administration will operate under her watch.

Chombo, however, laughed off Mujuru as a “weakling seeking to be hand-held by Western nations like (Morgan) Tsvangirai MDC-T leader.

“Mujuru, like Tsvangirai, is doing the bidding of her western masters. She is seeking guidance to form a political party from the Americans and the British; then you are their poodle, they can as well go and form the party in those countries.

“Mujuru, Tsvangirai are rushing to please their masters to get money to form a party. She is a fool who has turned into a poodle of whites.

“We hear also that Tsvangirai is threatening to boycott elections if there are no reforms. He has lost elections many times, is he not tired of losing,” said Chombo.

“We have humiliated him in the by-elections this year, we are tired of people calling for the government to change this law and that law.

“We always conduct elections because we believe it is a democratic process and we will win. The MDC-T as well as this party by Mujuru, Rugare Gumbo and the likes of Temba Mliswa are afraid of losing elections and now looking for an escape route to avoid losing,” claimed Chombo.

The minister of home affairs twisted the knife in, accusing Mujuru and Tsvangirai of “beginning to believe their own propaganda as there is nothing in their so called parties”.
