Will Zanu PF now make up its mind?

HARARE – It is a fair question for Zimbabweans to ask President Robert Mugabe and his long-ruling Zanu PF party when the nation can expect them to make up their minds about the real cause of our country’s never-ending political and economic problems?

According to the heretical Zanu PF gospel, it was, first, Morgan Tsvangirai and his puny band of white commercial farmer supporters who were the reason for all of our myriad crises of the past 34 years.

Then it was the “racist” West and their “evil” sanctions who were causing all of our problems.

Of course, our rulers are always very happy to receive desperately-needed food and medicines when these are donated to us by the same evil Americans and British.

Now, it is the Vice President of the Republic — the beleaguered widow of the late decorated liberation war hero, Solomon Mujuru, Joice — who was put in that lofty position by none other than Mugabe himself, who is supposedly at the heart of the nation’s perennial political and economic crises!

It boggles the mind.

This is the reason why many Zimbabweans are asking when they can expect our rulers to make up their minds about the real causes of the country’s never-ending problems.

But let no one hold their breath in the vain hope of getting a cogent answer to this obvious question from the heartless overlords who have been in charge of the levers of state over the past 34 miserable years.

The truth of the matter is that our myriad and seemingly intractable problems since our supposed Uhuru from Britain in 1980 have got absolutely nothing to do with any of the popular scapegoats mentioned above.

Indeed, our misery has everything to do with the well-documented gross corruption of Zanu PF leaders, their shocking ineptitude and their murderous misrule.

The party itself, from Mugabe himself to his wife Grace, is now openly admitting to this incontrovertible truth via lapdog State media — thanks to its deadly factional and succession wars that are exposing its skeleton-laden cupboards.

Things are now so bad that black Zimbabweans today are worse off in all terms in “independent” Zimbabwe than they were under the minority rule of Ian Smith’s racist Rhodesia.

It’s pathetic.

The key question to ask is how much longer citizens of this once proud nation will allow these despicable leeches to continue to suck our blood dry?
