THE High Court has sentenced a youth leader of the ruling Zanu PF party to 20 years in prison for killing an MDC-T activist during campaigning for the 2008 presidential run-off election.

Justice Eater Muremba said Thursday that Stabiliser Kadafi deserved a stiffer penalty.

According to court papers, John Max, whom Kadafi labelled as “a political sell-out”, died from injuries after being assaulted by Kadafi with the help of four other men.

High Court Judge Justice Felistus Chatukuta sentenced the other four to 15 years in jail each.

Kadafi, who allegedly masterminded the attack, disappeared in August 2008 until his recent arrest.
